Yeah, I guess I'll just try to pick random things and see where that takes me.

I'm finding that as age changes my preference in music does too. What I used to like may become less listened to with new discoveries, and I now find myself listening to music passed by earlier. With age it may bring me back to music that I stopped listening to, and with it a different kind of appreciation including nostalgia. In the end I am pretty much up to anything depending on my mood. :P
As long as it's not c(rap). I may listen to the good stuff considering there isn't much of that available. YMMV 8)
Too bad the record companies aren't able to retrieve the superfluous bad stuff from the shelves like they did in the 70s.
Unfortunately, some great stuff went with the mostly bad as record companies closed out contracts preferring to cut their losses, and then they paid more attention to their preferred artists. Then singles became popular which meant that a group didn't have to work as hard to get that fantastic album of many goodies that might break into singles. More like singles that may later group into an album. Or more likely one or two singles with nothing of note for fill to make an album.

Today, we have choices. But, fabricated awards, choreography, and big money marketing still play a part in influencing public choice, and that doesn't always play well. IMHO.

I wonder if Buddy Holly or his kind would have made it today without Kanye rapping with auto tune in the background, playing guitar like Little Wayne, and Brittany's dancers on stage? Maybe he would have - if he flew by wire like Katy.
Some would call me an old fuddy dudd. Well, yes and no. I'm simply in awe of true artists that did so well with most everything they produced especially in such a short time in their life and career. Holly, Joplin, Hendrix, Mayfield, Morrison, Gaye, Prince, and the list goes on including some of today's recent legends that passed.

I listen to a variety of music, although primarily in the rock genre, whatever the hell that is. I usually will listen to certain things from certain time frames, say if I'm in a mid 60's or I guess "British Invasion" era mood, I'll listen to whatever was around from 1964 to 1967, but I won't typically go into something from the 70's. I might just listen to the Who's first three albums, along with some early Beatles, or the Animals, but not the later stuff unless I feel like just listening to the group's entire catalog.

Month 10 of my diet. I lost 3 pounds for a total of 83 pounds. Measurements wise, 2 1/2" off my gut for a total of 12 1/2", 1/2" off my chest for a total of 5 1/2", 1/4" off my knee for a total of 5 1/4", but everything else is the same from last month.

About 45 minutes ago just finished burying my Mini Wire-hair Dachshund. He was a good dog, and is at God's right hand now. I'm gonna' miss that little guy. RIP Oscar.

So sorry to hear about your loss, Glenn. I know how sad that is. :( Maybe my dog Skipper, whom I lost at the age of 14, will be there to greet him. I'm sure they would make good friends. That would be nice.

On our walk tonight, we met Quinn Sullivan busking in the park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinn_Sullivan I didn't realize who it was until I got home and remembered him as a little kid playing onstage with Buddy Guy. He's 18 now and probably on break before he gets back on the road, since he's originally from New Bedford, MA, which is right down the road a few towns from Newport. I'll bet he probably lived around here, or maybe still at home and he's hanging out with a friend (there was another guy with him as they played acoustics.) He was playing a Clapton song and singing. You never know who you'll run into around here, especially during the summer season.

That's pretty cool, Paul. I remember Quinn when he started out. Nice that your walk included a funtime of entertainment like that. :D

Thanks guys. It was sudden, and Oscar dozed off, and never woke up. I hope it was a peaceful way for him to go. He was such a great dog. Thanks again.

I think someone posted about him on here with a video of when he was a kid. It seems like that's how I found out about him in the first place, but I could be wrong. I just remember watching that a long time ago from somewhere.

Friday is movie night here at home. That's good because yesterday we drove around the city limits visiting gardeners and gathering flowers and other plants plus a few other related things.

Today it was cut the front and back lawns, take a drive to get soil and mulch because I ran out of room in the car yesterday, and help Mrs. FSB plant the whole shebang. Looks purty now. She did a great job. :D
I am now relaxing with aches and pains that come with age. At least I'll sleep good tonight if the thunder and lightning storm that is happening doesn't keep me awake. If it does I'll watch another movie. :P

I'm in a Merseybeat kind of mood, so time to break out the Vox amps and Beatle boots. :P Unfortunately, I have neither, so I'll have to settle for the albums, which I'm listening to right now.

I drove my parents crazy about going to Thom Mcan Shoes‎ to get a pair of Beatles Boots. My feet were to wide, and didn't fit in them at all. No Beatle Boots for this kid!
