We just had the dogs out for their evening walk, and it's about time to close the cave door for the night.

Just an unfortunate follow-up. The new A/C tranny showed up at about 7pm and I got it swapped out pretty quick w/ good results( the fan worked again). The bad news is the compressor is probably bad; had to schedule an A/C tech visit for Wednesday, he can look over my work and diagnose better than I can w/ a phone in one hand to my brother. I expect to have to replace something major or at least beyond my level of comfort. At least I have my bro to bounce prices off. If the guys I called are unreasonable, I'll have to ask my bro to make a road trip w/ his van and maybe a replacement unit.
It's supposed to be 98 in the shade here on Wednesday, ouch in the house.

Sorry to hear that. I use to live in Florida, so I know what 98 in the shade means. I'm dealing with crappy, cold weather in Rhode Island right now.

Just had some Chinese takeaway and did some grocery shopping. It's been pouring rain all day so I had to work out on the elliptical machine instead of walking.

Yeah. My sympathy too. I don't like heat like that ever since I walked Panama in 112 degrees and returning to below zero weather adding non stop chills for a week. I just find it easier to bundle up anywhere (crazy Canuck) than to strip down and cool off everywhere.

I have the opposite problem. We have inherited a large AC that is on a living room wall, and it is redundant with central air. It won't be till next year to remove it as we are considering replacing it with a small gas fireplace with the thought that should the furnace or electricity leave us in the cold as it did a few years back then we would have alternative heat. This would also solve some replacing of siding that is no longer being made. A window is no good as sun is a problem. Anyway it gets done there is a cost. At least the fireplace has some value and investment, and the hole in the wall is simply an unwelcome repair.
I hope it all works well for you, sfceric64.

I have a fireplace that hasn't been used in over ten years. I used to live in upstate NY, had a great little wood pellet heater that was perfect for the main floor living area. I to prefer the cold over the heat, much easier to add a layer. Panama, guessing you went through jungle school. I had the opportunity to help w/ that Noriega character but decided to get out rather than re-enlist at the time, stayed out until Kuwait started up and then stayed for the long haul.
Have a great day.

Well I got lucky and drew a really good A/C tech; he checked my work, said I done good and replaced an old capacitor can that regulated the compressor and I'm now chillin again. A reasonable $160 well spent.

No jungle school for me, fortunately. I saw the jungle from a British built fleet class destroyer that had been around since 1942 and had a history (long before me) of sinking U-boats and locating the U.S.S. Nautilus with the first successful cabled variable depth sonar used on ships and choppers world over. It was the fastest destroyer (42 knots) ever to be in the R.C.N. (so much so that the backwash could reach the fantail). We were on a trip in the 60s with two other new destroyer escorts that pretty much circumnavigated North America from Halifax N.S. through the canal and up to Victoria, B.C. where the ship made it's final journey, but not before we got Admiralty permission to push her to the limits of her speed capability. :D Except for a fire onboard, maintenance, and snubbing a couple of Castro's gunboats along the way nothing as dangerous or heroic as you described. I was just happy to not find myself in Vietnam, and so we simply kept Ivan in check during the Cold War. So my hat goes off to you. I didn't know who Noriega was until I ran into some of his henchmen walking the streets of Panama. Quite the times.

It was so hot on deck through the canal that it was easy to get sunburned. The sick bay tiffy grabbed a large water bottle and mixed it with calamine lotion and vinegar with the idea that vinegar hurt so bad that it would ease the pain and the calamine would stop the itching. It actually worked!

Unfortunately, we've started having a problem with our drummer and he might be let go because of it, depending on how he acts and can get his act together. You wonder why we use electronics. Needless to say, it looks like I won't be able to get my basses fixed like was offered. At least, I don't know if I'd trust the situation to leave them there with a 3 hour drive away.

That's a bummer, Paul. Sorry to hear about that. Better sooner than later though it's a small consolation considering the effort put in. Hang in, Bro'. There's always options, and I'm pulling for you to find yours.

Yeah, I know. We'll see what happens, but it's not looking to good. It's not like we've had to deal with this before, but we're not going to let it stop us. We have too much stuff going on now to do that.

That's a shame about the drummer, and issues on the rise. It was sounding pretty solid there too. I guess you never can tell.

Checking the new acoustic and how it works with the Mustang IV. I didn't expect much as the amp is not optimized for acoustic. I'm surprised at how good the result is as long as I don't use a preset that is too funky.

Feedback from the Taylor is not out of the question at times depending on the preset, but it is controllable. That's where the noiseless N3s on the Strat shine. :D
Next time I'll try the same with just the SM57 Beta mike, mixer, and the Lexicon. After which I'll put it through a TCH VoicePlay GTX into the mixer. Lastly, I'll check it with the interface and DAW. Phew! It would be nice to just snap fingers or have another capable helper.
