Oh, Rollie. Seriously? Your 4th?
So sorry to hear that.

Glenn, I hope they're giving you good news.

Cool story, FSB.

I'm reminiscing.

Here's another story for ya, Matt. Wish I had a photo of my black '63 Mercury Comet. The Mounties used to drive them. Only back in the day you didn't slam the car. I dropped that little speedster 3 inches inches in the front and raised it 9 inches in the back. That helped to look over the hood and it gave you an amusement ride going around the corners. For now I drive a modest American made Hyundai from Alabama.
FSB
Hmm. Maybe I should drop it, tub the rears, add Leds on the frame, fabricate frenched headlights, and finish it off with T- Bird sequential tail lights. For icing on the cake I'd throw in a useless chromed Jag rear end just for show and to confuse the Canadian Tire tuners in that front wheel drive. :P
PS I'm not as cool as I used to be; but. I'm as hot as I'll ever be so says Mrs. FSB. 8)

I'm not as good as I once was .... but I'm as good once as I ever was.

I drive a Japanese branded car but mine was made here in Canada.
Toyota RAV4 (V6), made somewhere in Ontario, I believe.
With the V6 and 270 hp the little thing gets out of its own way in a hurry.
Pulls my boat up the mountain passes quite nicely, too.

The girls are coming over for a fan fest so I'm heading to safety in the man cave to play some Blues with Buddy (my Strat).

I drive a Rav4 also. I like it better than the Highlander I had previously to the Rav4.

And a lot better mileage than my Pathfinder when it first came out.

Summers are on and new pads on 4 corners.
I got the hybrid style pads this time.
A marriage of metallic and ceramic.
Supposed to last long and run cool.
Took it for a spin to get them started on mating with the rotors.
I can already hear a difference.
I bought cheap pads last time and they were noisy.
Made a kind of squeaking sound ... hard to describe.
These are dead quiet.

I actually get better mileage with my car than was advertised.
I'm supposed to get 37 mpg (imperial gallons) but if I used the cruise and stick to the limit and don't pass aggressively I've gotten just under 39 on flat ground with no wind @ 100kph (about 60mph).
38.8 I think it was the last time I checked.
I got 38.9 a couple of times too.
I only check it on trips.
Mixed driving doesn't tell me anything because I have no way of knowing what the mix ratio is.

Holy Gezz, I missed your post till just now. I hope you're doing ok after that one. I was able to stop by the house on the way to the hospital to get some small essentials. I wasn't dealing with a stroke. Get better really soon partner. Image

I've been a bit out of it, and it took me a few times to go back to Rollie's post. My God, 4 strokes. I hope Rollie has a quick recovery. My news is looking better as each day goes along. Pass me the Motrin bottle please.

I went for my walk today. We've been doing 4 miles instead of 3 now, but I'm so use to that I don't even notice the difference. Also had some fish and chips for dinner. Heinz Malt Vinegar a must. :P

A true connoisseur, Paul. As a kid, we used to wait for a bus on the way to school, outside of a well known English (actually Canadian) fish and chip shop. We then read funny papers wrapped in a cone stuffed with fish and chips to eat on our bus trip. The drivers were good about it in those days. Gosh, I miss those funny papers. :D

I'm just sitting here at home daydreaming watching the wind blow the trees around. A bit overcast, but a nice day. A 16 mph wind out of the east, and 79 degrees.
