Well, you could rig up some drums and play with foot pedals, while playing your Strat . . .
But, then I'd have to give up my volume/wah pedal and my effects pedal. Eureka, I have it! One foot on the kick, and one foot on the effects pedal, pinkie on the Strat volume, auto wah on the modeling amp, and a kazoo between the lips for good measure. Now that's a band.
Good to know you and the girlfriend are well set for the recording studio. Nice, Paul. I'm pretty well set up in house, mostly analog or analog to digital. What I don't have I make up from experience with pro studios, and I have to say this, " Man, does that field take these main things into account. Past knowledge and on hands experience, time consuming constant learning and upgrading of skills". Just like a great guitar doesn't make a great guitarist, it's fairly safe to say that great equipment doesn't ensure great results in the studio. The greatest results are from within IMHO. Then again at the receiving end, everyone dances to a different beat. That could be why there will always be fans for both quality productions and crap. Getting from here to there is sometimes talent, sometimes luck, and sometimes both. Hit songs can be a formula, a trend, an original, or a complete mind boggler. Kudos to your girlfriend, Paul, for taking that creative path of mystery, and for passing on that funny bassist story.

Cheers!

Sitting here happy as hell, my bandages were removed today. I'm still living on Motrin, or Extra Strength Tylenol, but I'm alive, and doing fine. Image

Great news, Glenn. Take it easy, and keep up with the jello treatment.

I was jamming on my hollow-body bass today. Other than that, my usual walk and some domestic crap around the house.

Just waking up and recovering from another shopping day with my better half. Went to return and get a different lamp, and walked out with the lamp and an unexpected bench from a lighting store !? Whoo boy! That shopping stuff is dangerous .

Now I'm deciding on the usual coffee or a hot chocolate malt.

Have a good one.

That's what always happens when you shop, especially grocery shopping. You should never do that when you're hungry unless you want a bunch of extra crap you probably shouldn't be eating in the first place. :P

I'm going to go for my walk and I'm not sure what else is going on today. Maybe nothing.

You are so right, Paul. At least now that we have a bench I won't be looking for one soon.

Cleaning up my mags.
Man but they are dirty.
I can't believe I let them sit there all winter without cleaning them up.
Gonna put the summers on tomorrow, I think.
Don't wanna be wearing out my new (last fall) X-Ices with all this dry pavement and above freezing temps.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks again guys, I'm feeling worn out tonight after having a whole lotta x-rays done today. I peeked at one, and saw where my 5th rib was. Image

That's great news, Matt. If you're moving to the summer treads then Spring must be just around the corner. Yahoo! I'm hoping that's the case since Spring came late last year. Some of our friends east and south east are still suffering the winter though.

I've had plenty of mags and I suffered the first issue of raised white letter polyglas that would wear off the blackwall around the letters if carwashed. My oddest mags were for the 17th. Honda to reach these shores. They were 12inch British mags suitable for a mini. At the time, that size was almost impossible to find and, after ordering from Britain, fortunately, they fitted the Civic. Since then I've bought some promoted as Winter capable mags. Can't say for sure if there is a difference (likely paint and clear coat piled on, and maybe composite since they are not all equal). I know one thing though. Some mags take more of a beating in the winter. This is true, as you well know, with sand and gravel added to the salt problem. :? Time to get the hover car on the road. Besides working well on slippery roads, it would be fun to watch the snow fly over the potholes.

I'm in hospital trying to recover from stroke #4. As much of a surprise as the others. Pretty big mess I am in now. Don't know how long they will keep me here. And I forgot my phone charger, although I was a little out of it coming over here. Everyone stay frosty, love you all and the Forum .

Aw, what did you have to do that for Rollie? Stay brave and get better soon. Do the best you can with that delicious hospital food, and get better soon. We need you, and we're all here for ya, bro'. Relax and get all the care and attention you deserve. Better times are ahead, SBLS.
