I know what Marky is talking about. I've been in that situation a few times. The drivers have to make it to the plows first. :D
Up here you'll see a Zamboni first.

 They did but it took them days to clear it all. The airports were closed because of 10 foot drifts and you couldn't even see the front doors on a lot of houses. They were completely snowed in. You guys may be used to that but, for us, it was really something. :)

That's true FSB. Everything was snowed in. In some places the drifts were so high that you could not even see the road signs.

Yes, but did you walk barefoot in it to school 5 miles uphill both ways? If not, then surely your parents or grandparents did, or so they say. :P

Going nose to nose with a cold. Thought I'd beaten it this winter (for a change). Nope.

The downside is it seems that whenever the miserable meanies attack it is just as mean outside. As it happpened, overnight we got some snow dumped on us from neighbouring storms. Not a lot, but enough to shovel in dropping temperatures. Cool. Maybe, I'll get to see my buddy Mr. Snowplow block us in with a pile to shovel too. Yahoo!

Oh, well. The bright side is we have supplies for hot toddies.

Cheers, mates!

Going for a walk at dawn and I have to go to the liquor store when it opens. I'm about out of booze. Can't have that. :P

I was once snowed in at work where we had to keep the TV station going for 3 days and nights without a crew change.

We couldn't go far; but, fortunately, we had a snowmobile that made it to a liquor store where those poor guys were snowed in. I'm not sure where the better place to be stranded was.

Hi guys, I'm back home after two weeks in the local hospital for a pretty serious operation on my right lung. What was thought to be an on set to pneumonia turned into something more serious. I lost part of my 5th rib, and the rest is a lot of 13, and 15 letter medical termed problems. All is well, on the mend, I hope to be around more in a couple of days. Good Night. Image

I'm terribly sorry to hear the news about your situation, Glenn. That must have been painful.

At the same time, I'm glad to hear that you're on the mend. Good that you had it checked out (good lesson for us all).

Take care to give those lungs a rest, and you'll be back to baking those scrumptious pies for the family in no time. Keep us posted.

So glad to read that you are on the mend. That can be some scary stuff but you stayed strong, well done. Sending good vibes your way for a quick and complete recovery. Stay well. :)

Thanks to all for the much appreciated kind words. I'm doing really well in healing up, thanks to my wife's help, and support. We knew things were pretty serious, but both of us were really taken back when we were told about them removing part of the 5th rib on the right side during the 3 hour surgery. I'm sure glad it's over, and can hopefully get back to a regular life again. Image

I was starting to wonder what happened to you, after your last post mentioned about going to the ER. That sucks you had to go through that, but hopefully things will be healing up for you.

I'm sure your wife was worried, Glenn. It's tough for a husband to relax their fears, since it's not a woman's nature to listen to her hubby most times, so with occasions like this - fuggedaboutit. Some spouses are often undervalued, but. they sure come in handy, huh? Mine just brought me breakfast in bed, fluffed up the pillow, and handed me the remote to ease my flu. I think I'll keep her.

Get better soon.

I finally got my flatwound strings for the hollow-body bass, so I'll be changing that today. Also, there's a possibility that we could get a serious blizzard blowing through here on Tuesday, which is totally bizarre for March. Blizzard in March? That's a first. Crazy weather, that's for sure. :P

Getting ready to attend a wake of a good friend... :(

Rick had a massive stroke (age 58) and was pronounced brain dead when they got
him to the hospital. His family obliged his wishes to not keep him on life support.
He was a massive talent and all around great guy...he will be missed by many.
