Just had some fresh java, watching Obamacare/health care hearings and Price nomination while watching a crawl underneath reporting the big three auto heads of those corporations are in a breakfast meeting with Donald today. I'd like to be a fly on the wall for that one.

Meanwhile, I'm watching white fluffy stuff cover our car, but we're going for a ride anyhow.

The weather is clear today, so I'll be able to go for a walk outside, but I'm going to wait until the sun goes down a bit. It's a bit too much right now. I jammed out on my violin bass for about an hour yesterday, so I'd like to do that today, as well.

Going upstairs to play my Strat. It's been a while because I have trouble with stairs. I've been playing an acoustic downstairs but I just can't take it anymore. :)

I was playing through the Markbass CMD 212P / NY 121 amp for a while. It sounds good, and really easy to move around. Goodbye to the Super Bassman / Ampeg setup.

Went for a long walk this afternoon and went shopping and got some Chinese takeaway.

Mrs. FSB took me shopping today - again. We made a drastic change to Italian modern from inherited French Provincial tables. The chairs and sofa have been Italian modern for awhile, but more continuity is soon to come to complete the changeover making it all less eclectic. I'm a happy camper.

Aside from our Bauhaus days, we have been traditional to a point with being eclectic at times. I mention this because there is a well known Eames bent wood and leather lounge chair and foot stool which I bought in 1971 for approximately 2 grand. I later regretted giving it to a friend, and today I saw a lesser version. It was the same make for retail sale at close to $7000! Outa my league at least for now. That would buy a nice guitar and a stool. When I bought my original chair I also bought a new muscle car for $7300. I'm told the chair price keeps rising. That makes a used one worth more than the one I bought new. I'm debating if I should go shopping with the missus for the rest of the new decor. I'm not sure I can take all these surprises.

Later, I accidentally found the same chair and stool new for $125! It was an immaculate Japanese 1/12th size minature copy.

I cleaned my office. I had a bunch of guitar cables and a bunch of other crap I needed to sort out and organize (i.e. not shove on the shelf. :P) I've been also putting some time in playing my violin bass, too. When I get some extra cash, I'm going to order some flats for it.

I think you're going to like the Flats on your violin bass.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the Rotosounds, which I usually use, albeit on long scale basses.

I'm feeling a little disappointed (but I'll get over it - really). 3 blocks away there is an empty building that recently housed everything from a triangle to numerous guitars and amps. I was a regular, especially on my summer walks. Now I'll have to drive uptown to their new bigger digs. The plus is that there will be more to have GAS over.

Building a spec/cost/repairs worksheet for the new old National Comet while listening to the blues channel on TV and drinking coffee.

Very cool. What year is it? Never had one, but my first car was a '63 Comet on wheels. That would have been a trick amp to haul in the back seat.

Went for my usual walk, went grocery shopping, then jammed on my violin bass for a while. I'm thinking about trying to play more with a plectrum. I want to get some celluloid ones, though. I've read those D'Andrea ones are pretty good for that type.
