Chilling out listening to music and finishing up the laundry that I had started earlier today. I've been out and about all day, otherwise. Didn't win any jackpots gambling, though. :P

We finished cleaning up the kitchen after dinner. And of course, the dogs got a bit of some extra dinner on top of their own.

We went shopping for 4 1/2 hours today. My girlfriend got a bunch of stuff, but I got a new belt and a sweater. I couldn't find any pants that were in my current size, ironically enough. I use to have a problem getting them in my old size, but they had all of those. Now that I lost weight, I can't seem to find that size, now.

Hit an intersection in Regina, SK that should have been sanded, and the car skated across safely at a snail's pace with the ABS having little to no effect with the road condition.

Cars were stuck off road between the divided highway, and bumpers were smashed in. In the next province (Manitoba) we passed another semi and trailer turned onto its side beside us.

Soon after, we returned home to -35 degrees and the most snow since 1966 when everything was shut down; fortunately, cleanup began before arriving. Because, both of our gates were blocked, the yard could not be accessed until I pushed through the back door from inside the house, and tramped through knee high powder, to clear the gates so our cousin could snow blow the rest including the driveway while I cleared the roof as best possible. After a long drive home, this was all in a day's work. Phew!

Nice to be home. I'm going to do nothing today. :D
Have a good one.

Well, it looks like you had one hell of an adventure. Good thing you made it home OK.

I have to do some domestic stuff and I don't know what later, probably a walk, before it supposed to snow. Maybe jam out on the bass a bit.

Regina is inside that region expected to have an unseasonably harsh winter this year.
Sucks to be you, I guess, FSB .

Alberta should be about normal.
Yay me!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I worked out inside the house instead of going for a walk tonight. I did go out for some Chinese takeaway and a ride out by the Atlantic. I think it's suppose to snow tonight for the first time. That's always a joy. :P

Thanks, for that, Paul. I've driven across both countries many times in good and bad weather; but, a lot has changed in this day of phones and texting which can be an advantage and disadvantage depending on the usage.

More population means more drivers good and bad, including more trucks and longer trailers on the road. Weather extremes have shown up like never before in places that haven't accepted responsibility for adequate winter road maintenance due to a history of rare occasions, and resources are stretched whether justified or not.

I can't tell you how it was except to say that I don't scare easily having had lots of adventures in my life. I won't rush to make a similar trip in the winter anytime soon though, and I only added the drama to recommend safer alternatives to anyone who doesn't have to make a trip the way I did. Still, you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
Cheers!

Hey, Matt. Nice for you and Alberta. There's hope for normality yet. I'll make a deal with you. Send me some of your great weather, and I'll keep the F5 summer tornado that came 10 miles away from us a few years back should it return. :D
FSB

All things considered, it's pretty good in this country compared to the annual tragic happenings with the menacing weather that plagues our brothers and sisters to the south of us.

Safe keeping all.

FSB

Other than catching up on emails, PVR recordings, and reading manuals for stereo equipment, etc., I'm enjoying the fruits of my retirement and enjoying having returned home to do nothing; but, I hope to find time to noodle a little tomorrow. :D

Good morning. Having first cup of coffee and reflecting on last night's jam.
Some new faces/players showed up and it turned out very well.
