I'm going to do my walk earlier today to avoid any potential craziness with it being both Saturday and New Year's Eve around town. Then again, knowing this place, they are probably starting already. :P With the schedule I'm on, I don't know if I'll be up for midnight when this year finally ends.

I tried on some pants in the store earlier this evening and the ones that fit me are actually two sizes down from what I have on now. That was surprising for me, because I'd thought I'd just be down one size. It looks like I'm doing better than I think I am with my diet. Tomorrow is my official, monthly weigh in and measurements. Hopefully, I did pretty good. I guess I must have, if I can fit in those pants now.

Sitting with Mrs. FSB in a favourite Irish pub away from home here in Vancouver, drinking Moscow Mules, eating cabbage rolls and a special bread pudding with crepe and strawberries and Mrs. FSB is having Chardonnay and white chocolate mousse. A substantial meal before our long winter road trip back home starting day after tomorrow.

Happy New Year's gang

Well, the brief stop at the pub mentioned earlier (Dublin Crossing in Vancouver) turned out to be a great choice. After a live entertainer played and sang Copperhead Road the management (Krista) and our server (Sarah) have just helped me to get my stubby copper mug which I really wanted so that Mrs.FSB could make ice cold Moscow Mules for me back home. Whoo Hoo!

Great way to start off the New Year. Obviously, live entertainment is not always available, but the rest of the teriffic nummies and suckies are awesome. Their fantastic local ginger beer is said to have a shelf life of only 3 weeks! That means it's young and fresh when served. So check this place out if you get to that city. :D

I'm enjoying a nice quiet New Year's Day this morning. Waiting for the football games to start about 1:00 PM.

I'm doing my year-end finances. I spent a lot of money on women and alcohol when I should have spent it on more gear.

Month 5 of my diet. I have lost 7 pounds this month for a total 58 pounds. Not as much as last month, but the most important thing is I've lost more in measurements this month. 1 1/4" waist, 6" total; 1/2" chest, 4" total; 2 1/2" gut, 9" total; 1/2" arm, 2 3/4" total; 2" knee, 4" total; 1/4" neck, 1 1/2" total; 2/10" wrist, 1/2" total. My thigh and calf are the same, but I had lost 3 1/2" from that, originally. Like I said previously, the main thing is to get rid of my gut. I expect to get some leg muscle development from walking so much. I can tell that already.

Another great thing that has happened to me is I can fit into a pants size that's 4 sizes smaller than when I started now. The clothes I am wearing are actually too big for me and I have to wear a belt. Even my belt is too big for me. I have it adjusted way back. I haven't been able to fit into that size in over 20 years before I gained a serous amount of weight.

Way to go Paul. It sure goes on easier, than it comes off.

That's true, although I really haven't had a lot of trouble doing with doing it. I guess it's just a mental discipline to have. I just reached a point in life where I know I couldn't stay in that condition without eventual consequences.

That weight loss is a great accomplishment, Paul. Good on ya. I've got some pounds you are welcome to if you ever run short.
:D

Getting psyched for the road trip back home just hours from now. We are going to tackle the Highway To Hell (Coquihalla) once more; but, this time it will be in the sunny daytime. There isn't much choice in routes as the amount of snow is pretty similar no matter what. This time we are not having to meet a deadline so we will be okay and drive like snails if necessary with stayovers if needed. Accommodations are not plentiful in certain mountain areas so sometimes driving distance becomes a plus or minus when planning the next leg. Add the weather and closures and you have an adventure. Been there, done that, so I'm up to it as the sun, snow, and cold increases as I head east. 8)

Hopefully, you won't end up like the Donner Party. :P

That was really funny, Paul. ROTFL. I never thought of it until now so I'll have to take my toothpicks just in case.
