I was talking to my sister in Florida. She did her last day of my parent's lawn service business that my dad started in 1980. They're going to sell the business with the equipment and move out of Florida. I suppose it's an end of an era. I was working for them when I was 9 or 10 years old, during summer, then full time when I left high school for a long time. So much for child labor laws. :P

Trying to get over this bug I caught (stinkin' snowbirds bring their germs with them). My lungs are full and the last few days I coughed so hard I hurt my back. And my stomach feels like I did 100 sit-ups. Well . . . maybe 20.

And I got a flu shot last month!

I got a flu shot and got the flu, too! I can only imagine if I didn't get one. I'd probably be in the hospital or seriously FUBARed.

Building up a resistance has me puzzled. It appears the older you get the longer it takes to recover, and it seems that the next bout of flu or cold can come sooner between the last and the next.

I just got rid of a cough that lasted over a month. Unfortunately, I am allergic to most every antibiotic so much so that the Doc gave me a prescription, but encouraged me to wait it out as long as possible (might as well flip a coin), and only to take it at the very last moment if necessary. Not a fun option.

As for the flu shot, I've never tried it based on those I know who also have gotten sick afterwards. Still, it seems like a good idea; but, history has a lot of good ideas ready before their time.

Here's hoping your under the weather ailments soon pass by.

I was reluctant to get one for years, for the same reason, but I don't regret it, even though I did get sick. I don't believe it was from the shot, because I had gotten it a few weeks prior. I can only imagine what would happen if I didn't get the shot. This flu stuff that's going around is serious business.

I only had time to plug in the load. Maybe tomorrow the sounds should fill the air.

Thanks FSB. It shipped fine. At first I thought I had a problem inside the carton, like broken parts moving around in the carton. Then when I opened the carton, I saw it was the candy rolling around in the carton. Sweetwater packs a few pieces wrapped candy in a bag, within the carton. The bag opened, and the pieces of candy were rolling around in it.

Glad if turned out for the best. If one didn't know about the candy it certainly could set off alarms. Thankfully, they were false, and no damage occurred. :D
