Paul, you're so right on about getting to that part of a person's life when they get tired of giving others a pass for stupidity, or what ever. If you're girl friend see's fit to not cut him the slack, I can understand where she's at with that. It's to bad he didn't have his brain filter on before he made the offending comments. Once it said, you call it back, unfortunately.

Yeah, that's the thing about it. She thinks he said this stuff deliberately, knowing it would upset and piss her off. It wouldn't make sense to me, but sometimes people do really screwed up things, especially if they are being mental. The only thing it's going to do is hurt himself. We'll go on like we've always had to. Sure, it sucks, but maybe it wasn't meant to be to begin with.

Sorry to hear about the situation that occurred at this time of year (or any other) regarding your girlfriend and previous friend, Paul.

If it's any consolation I recently heard, although, I can't verify it, that friends can change (on the average) every 7 years. I don't know about that, but I have won and lost friends many times mostly from changing homes across the country, and some from work, and just losing touch. Sometimes, losing touch is not a bad thing. Also, best friends are just that- the best.

In any case, there are a lot of new friends to be discovered and had, and I'm sure you will have no problem there in that department.

All the best in the coming year for you and your girlfriend, Paul.

Thanks. All the best to you, too. 8) You know, I haven't even seen this guy in going on 14 years and it's been only a year since I even found him on Facebook. We use to gel quite well musically and all of that, but if he's going to be like this, than we can't deal with that, as sad as that may be. I completely understand where she comes from with this. Imagine reversing the situation and then you'd probably feel the same way.

I haven't seen that or the last sequel, yet. Come to think of it, there's quite a few movies that came out that I've missed in the past couple of years. It looks like I'm going to have to beef up my DVD collection and catch up.

I'm bringing back a Home Theatre receiver that I inherited from my kid brother, and Star Wars will be on my list of movies to watch.

I too have yet to see the new one , so thanks for your take on it, Glenn. I was wondering if it was any good or not as movie promotion, being that most of it comes from affiliation, can be a dud at times while ill promoted movies can sometimes be sleepers that can be a pleasant surprise. IMHO.

Hoping I have time to pick up my favorite Strat and revisit my pedalboard. The Strat could use some work like a board cleaning, new strings and a setup.

Assembling a plethora of IKEA furnishings. Reminds me of my old Meccano set, looking for that missing bolt or washer.

Oh man, I feel sorry for you! If you want to really piss me off, have me either assemble something from Ikea, or deal with Microsoft. :P

I'm doing laundry today and I'm going to go to the store to get some things. I'm finally starting to get over from what I think might have been the flu, but my girlfriend is sick, too. I'm so glad to get that flu shot, it could have been a lot worse if it still affected us with the shot. I'd like to play my bass a bit, too. We won't obviously be able to rehearse to where she can sing, since her voice is rough right now.

The small stuff not so much a problem, except when a piece strips or isn't positioned correctly. The larger pieces often have many parts to assemble, and, although assembly is a similar experience whether small or large, neither hardware nor pieces from IKEA are generally provided with numerical or alphabetical labels as even some of the other manufacturers/distributors do (even at the same price point). Does that mean it can't be figured out just with the kiddie pictures? No, but it would certainly speed up the process, and prevent errors that might have to be undone or retro-fitted. :?

Hope you and your girlfriend's cold/flu is starting to vacate, Paul.
