There's always the age old tradition of last minute. :P

Did more shopping this morning. I'm down to one Christmas gift to buy . . . and three birthday presents . . . and a graduation gift. I need a raise. :(

Sometimes, it so hard to get gifts when you really don't know what to get people.

Just finished a little while ago, hanging up some new Christmas lights.

I'm getting ready to make my third trip this year across the prairies and through the Rockies to the coast. Mrs. FSB and I were surprised with short notice to be moving my mother to a retirement home in Vancouver, and that is expected to be just days before Christmas.

Roads and weather changes will be a challenge as we go from one extreme condition to the opposite. Snow, ice, rain, dry pavement, cross winds. altitude changes, and more. There's always a chance of whiteout in the flatland and black ice, especially through the mountains and valleys. Thankfully, the opposite is true, and I grew up knowing the territory well.

There and back (in the middle of holiday travelers, tourists, snowmobiles, and skiers/snowboarders) there will be limited if any lodging choices, and weather restricts travel for reservations.

New optimized as best possible winter tires (which find different needs for the prairies compared to the rainy coast) are going on this week, and the adventure will be interesting. Here's hoping the tires won't be too noisy for the highway (I'll just crank the tunes).

Now where did I put my long johns and toque?
FSB
If I keep showing up at the same roadside eaterys and rest stops they'll think I moved into their neighbourhood.

If all else fails, you could get a sled and a bunch of Malamutes to get around with. :P The bright side is you don't need a refrigerator to keep your beer cold. :P

For the full Florida Christmas, you should have the palm trees lighted up. :P

We went for a walk earlier tonight, which was good timing because we're started to get some snow flurries, mixed with rain. I suppose this is our first snow of the year. It's early this year for that.

I like dogs, but, Mrs. FSB prefers horsepower. I do like that bright side, Paul. I know that one shouldn't drink and drive . . . that doesn't mean you can't drive and drink at the end of the day. :P

We had a rehearsal last night and went for a walk. Also sent some music to my friend so he can learn it and get a feel for it, even though he's still in Japan. He wants to start learning the songs now.

I'd have to use the Live Oak tree to string lights on. No palm trees on the yard.
