Thanks to Cyber Monday, I got a hell of a deal on that hollowbody bass I wanted to get. Another $50 knocked off the price. 8) It's my early birthday and Christmas present. It was ordered today, so anytime during the week should be here. Looking forward to it.

Digging out a set of ETB92 Nylons for the USA Geddy Lee Jazz, that should show up tomorrow. A day earlier than expected.

I just like the Bass, not Rush. I really never did follow Rush. A couple of their songs on the Radio, but that's about it.

Well, it's pretty much based on a '72 Jazz Bass with his name on it, anyway. That reminds me, have you ever checked out the Fender 70's Jazz? I might have asked you that before, but I don't remember. It looks pretty similar to the Geddy Lee with the block inlays and it's a sunburst from what I remember. I think they still make it, but I haven't checked in awhile.

Yes I have. I think it's a great Jazz. I'd have one of those except, I'm not crazy about the 7.25" radius on it. I definitely do better with a flatter board. I disagree with some players saying smaller hands do better with more of a rounded board. When I have to reach over a curved board, I am to close to the tops of the strings I'm reaching over. Just me I guess.

Oh yeah, that's right, I remember you did say something about the fretboard radius on that.

Yeah,..... but it really is a nice Jazz. I played one in SA a couple of weeks ago, and that got me contemplating the acquiring of the USA Geddy Lee Jazz. Honestly, if it wasn't for the radius, I may have gone for it. Overall though, I like the Geddy Lee Jazz better.

It's interesting that the Geddy Lee has a different radius, since it's based on a 70's Jazz. I guess that was his specification for that.

Either that, or it's just the accepted radius for the MIA Jazz these days. All I know is, I'm really glad they made it the way they did. I think if they had used the 7.25" board on the USA GL, I'd probably stayed with an Am. Std. with the 9.5" board.

I wonder if the original Japanese version of the Geddy Lee had the same radius, or was the original size? I don't remember the specs on it. Probably could find it with an internet search. There was also the MIM version. Didn't you have that one?

Digging my new hollowbody bass. I haven't plugged it in yet, but sounds and plays nice acoustically. 8)

I thought about the nylons, but I wonder if they'd be too thick for that bass. It's a smaller neck. I would like to try them on the Jazz Bass, though.
