I've noticed something interesting. The further experienced you get playing an instrument, the more you notice things in songs, or you hear the music differently than you did previously. I've been listening to a lot of Beatles recently, and it certainly sounds different to me than it did years ago, especially what the bass is doing and it's tonality.

That's funny you mention that Paul. I've been doing the same thing with The Beatles songs. I'm appreciating so many of their songs I've of course listened to, but took for granted over the years. Such well produced, and great sounds. Long Live The Fab Four.

I've also noticed a lot of things with using headphones, too. It also seems with the remasters that they brought the bass up on the earlier albums. You can really hear the tone of the Hofner on those now, especially wearing headphones. You know that's really where my GAS for a hollowbody bass comes from when I was 16, I think. It's still the one bass I want to get for many reasons. I know there's always cool stuff that comes out, like the Mustang bass and that, but if I could get that, I'd really be set, sans any other GAS. Of course, win the lottery and that would probably be a different story. :P

I'm waiting for the Olympic White Mustang to be available. I moved the Epi EB-3 to use toward the Mustang. Hollow body basses are alright. My 1969 EKO 995 was a good one back then. I do like the Hofner sound, and it's so light in weight.

I had a feeling you'd move the Epiphone for a Mustang. I'd do the same thing, since those Epiphones are pretty cheap and you can get them anytime, and they made a ton of them. The Mustang might be harder to get, depending on how Fender does with it. I've noticed they don't keep models other than your basic P's and J's around forever. I suppose it depends on how they sell, too. I've been thinking if I have anything I could possibly sell to get a Hofner, since AMS has one for $349, the budget one. I know it's not as good as the German one, but it should serve my purpose. Rondo music has their own kind for $149, which is $200 cheaper, but it's not a Hofner. It actually looks the same as the Epiphone Viola Bass, but a different headstock. That thing might be too cheap, though.

I'm changing my schedule around again, so I went for a walk 5 AM then went shopping when the grocery stores opened at 7 AM. I haven't been out and about in the morning like that in a long time. Also cleaned and had some radishes, which I haven't had in ages. I loved those as a kid, still do.

We did a massive purge of clothes that are in good condition that we're going to donate. All of my shorts that I wear in the summer I'm giving away, since it will be at least 7 to 8 months before I would wear them again and by the time I do, I should have lost most if not all my weight. That's of course if I continue to lose 10 pounds a month, which would make that 70 to 80 pounds, which is more than I think I have to lose to begin with. I'm already having to wear a belt with pants I got that were a size smaller than I was wearing before I started this thing. So today we'll take that to the donation place and do a few errands and usual walk.

Ten pounds a month is a substantial amount. Way to go. Hofners are decent basses, at any price.

I was going to clean my office today, but feeling a little burnt out from yesterday, so I'm going to do it tomorrow. I do need to go for a walk before it rains, though. I can't be that lazy. :P

Thanks. It certainly makes the months go by slower by waiting for the 1st each one to weigh and measure myself. Then again, sometimes the day just shoots by real quick, sometimes.

Yeah, they are pretty cool. I'm pretty sure that's what I want for a hollowbody, considering the price ranges and availability. You never know what can pop up, too.

Every so often an older German Hofner shows up for a decent price.

I got a spam PM the other day, or it seemed like one. It came from "What Are You Listening To Thread."

We might be selling our Fender Passport PA today, unless the guy decided to flake out on us. He was suppose to contact us an hour and half ago, but no dice. We'll see. If so, then I'll be making a trip to meet up somewhere to sell it. Other than that, the Walking Dead is on tonight and I'm going to some cooking later and go for a walk. I still haven't cleaned my office yet, since I had other things going on. Maybe today, maybe not. :P

True, but still probably out of my reach right now. It's funny, Paul McCartney bought that because it was originally a cheap instrument and couldn't afford a Fender.
