I'm just been able to log in on here on my PC. They had that whole log in error with wrong password BS again for the past two or three days. Did anyone have that issue, too? By the way, thanks for the congrats and those in Florida batten down your hatches with that hurricane coming. It might nail us up here, so we're going to prepare, just in case. Stock up on bottled water and canned food, that sort of thing. We already have batteries and things like that.

I was just able to log in. I'm trying to decide weather to put up some panels, all the panels, or no panels at all. The big wind is a comin'! Tomorrow is suppose to go lousy quick. "God Bless Our Generator!" Image

Yep! I've just managed to get back on the Forum. A few hours ago it took several attempts, after a couple of days without success. Today, I had to log off shortly thereafter only to have more attempts to login with failure. Persistence paid off, but I'm not betting on it for the moment. I've found that we are not alone with this issue, and I've learned that Fender is not only presently involved with login changes, but will be addressing the change soon. Time will tell.

Until then, as Florida has suggested, gas up, and make sure your mobile electronics are charged amongst all the usual precautions, and stay safe in that Hurricane.

Meanwhile, I'm watching Tim Kaine and Mike Pence duke it out on their debate. Now that's reality entertainment. Talk about a storm.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And rains fall soft upon your fields . . .

I just got in a short time ago from putting up hurricane panels. We may have a visitor show up sometime Thursday.

I saw you might get FUBARed from that. Hopefully, you'll be OK from that. I guess it's not going to come my way, from what I've seen, but you never know. I just have a couple extra of cans of Spam and Chef Boyardee on hand for my efforts. Survival food. :P

Yeah, this has happened a couple of times before. I figured someone was messing with the forum again. Hopefully, we won't get hacked or something obnoxious like that.

When you wrote that Irish quote, you reminded me of a couple of Irish bars around Thames Street in Newport, RI for some reason. I'm I stereotyping, or something? :P Well, I'm half Russian and until recently, Russia didn't even consider beer an alcoholic beverage, so who's more hardcore? :P

Yesterday, I walked a total of 4 miles and cooked a pot of beef stew and Sloppy Joes right afterwards. I had the Sloppy Joes for dinner yesterday and had the stew today. I've also did some domestic crap, so now it's Miller Time. Actually, Miller Lite, because I'm on a diet and that's only 96 calories a can and 4.2% ABV. A good ratio to catch a buzz in my caloric limits, which is probably why my diet is working. I don't have to quit drinking if I don't want to. :P

I'm hunkering down in my condo on the barrier island where the tropical storm warning meets the hurricane warning at Golden Beach, FL. Hurricane Matthew looks like it will be a Cat 4 again when it hits Florida. We've been spoiled these last 10 years.

Well, when I last visited Vancouver, BC, Mrs. FSB and I found a great neighbourhood Irish Pub by my Mom's home. Some of the great waitresses were Asians ha ha. The cool thing was that the Pub made their own awesome ginger beer to make my favourite drink. A Moscow Mule with ginger beer, lime, and vodka. So I would say that it's a toss up. Considering Mrs. FSB has a distant Russian and a closer Irish background and I have English and Irish background both being Canadian born, I guess the Irish win the hardcore two to one in this house.
Cheers!

Florida now has a strong evacuation warning from authorities. So today my thoughts are with all of you in the path of Hurricane Matthew.

Stay safe and take precautions

+1

I have family and friends down there, too. Mostly in St. Petersburg, on the other side, so they'll probably be OK, though. My girlfriend has a cousin and her family that lives in Fort Lauderdale, so she's worried about her.

I like to make a drink with Black Heart Spiced Rum and Gosling's Diet Ginger Beer (I'm trying to avoid extra calories and it's 0 calories while the rum is 76 an ounce= 304 calories for the whole thing in a big tumbler with 4 ounces of rum a can of ginger beer and you're feeling fine. :P ) The rum is 93 proof and has a vanilla note to it, so the whole thing tastes kind of like a ginger snap cookie or something like that. It's one of my favorite drinks.

Technically, I'm 1/4 Russian, 1/4 Ukrainian from my mother's parents, who had immigrated to NY around 1926 and were refugees from the Stalin regime (snuck out of the country while they could) and 1/4 French and 1/4 English from my father's side. His father was actually French Canadian and spoke French, so I have Canuck in me and his mother was English, but that family originated from the Mayflower era. I never met him, because he died in 1960, and was also a WW1 veteran. My father doesn't remember his mother because she died when he was 4. There were 5 siblings total, and he was the youngest and is now 84. I still have one aunt that's still alive who's older, but I haven't seen her since 1984. She's on Facebook, though. So is a few of my cousins, which some I've never met, or I was maybe 4 years old when I did, when we originally lived in Virginia, where I was born, and had some huge family gathering. They are a lot older than me and their parents were WW2 veterans, so basically baby boomer era. My parents were 40 and 38 when I was born, so that's why there's such a huge age gap with the family members. My oldest sister is technically old enough to be my mother and has a son that's only a year and a half younger than me and has a kid of his own.

The interesting thing about that is I have cousins that are old enough to be my parents, I'm biologically old enough to be a grandparent, and we all have the same grandparents, since their parents and mine had the same parents, or at least one of them is biologically related, because there's no inbreeding going on with aunts and uncles, or in their case, brothers and sisters. :P

At this moment I'm watching crime fighter Blankman (funny) starring Damon Wayans (dang it! I gave his identity away. He's gonna be ticked). i'm also sippin' on wine, although spiced rum and ginger beer would work too since I switched from rum and cola somewhat. YMMV

Yesterday, I tried on and bought some jeans that are a size smaller than what I have now and they totally fit and even loose to where I'd probably have to wear a belt with them. This diet stuff is actually working. 8) If I can keep losing at least 10 pounds a month, that would be 20 pounds more on my birthday and maybe enough to fit in the next size down, if I lose the same measurements I have been. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing, I think.

I got in a few hours ago after taking down the storm panels, and getting everything about as close to normal, or as normal is around my house. We got lucky to be at the south part of south east Palm Beach County. No power outages, and no damages from wind, or tidal surge. This was so much better than 11 years ago, riding out Wilma.
The Fort Lauderdale area in Broward County did ok too.
