We just got in a couple of hours ago from picking up our daughter from the airport.

Hope your daughter had a great time in France and Spain, Glenn. I know you must be relieved that she's safely in Dad's arms :D
We're presently in contact with a cousin at a wedding and touring Italy, and sharing some of her experience. Sounds like fun.

Tonight we just had a thunderstorm knock out our power just before Ted Cruz announced no endorsement at the RNC. Meanwhile, we grabbed candles and an iPad to stream the event when suddenly the power came back. Good thing as the heat and humidity would have trumped the shut down AC. Phew!

Went for a walk and got some Chinese. I'm glad the humidity wasn't so bad today. It was a nice break. Probably won't last though. :P We do need some rain around here.

Finishing up the laundry and going through my personal e-mails. Bills and finances come next and if there is any time left, I will devote it to my guitars and my now operational pedalboard.

I've made a few changes in my life and I'm going see how that works out. Hopefully, for the better.

Thanks. I've gone into serious overdrive about trying get in better shape. That's why I walk everyday and now I'm paying attention to my calorie consumption and try to limit it to 2000 and under so I can drop some weight. I'd like to drop 45 pounds, so I'd be 200. I'm 6'3" tall and large build anyway, so that should be ideal size, I think. If I want to go lower, it won't go lower than 180, because I'll get too anorexic looking, which would be a odd change of pace for me. :P Basically, I want to get rid of this gut I've been carrying for years once and for all. I'd love to walk into any store and buy a pair of pants without stressing out because they don't size things right anymore. If you're thin enough, it increases you're odds, hopefully.

It's not really that difficult, when you figure out the calories and you can eat anything you want to. Hell, I can eat McDonald's and still lose weight. You just have to work it out ahead of time on where you want to use your calories. A great trick I do is soup for breakfast. Chunky or Progresso soups, usually. The can of Progresso I had was only 180 calories and it fills me pretty good. Plus, it's cheap, especially on sale. All you got to do is heat it up in some sort of bowl and there you go. I burned most of that off for a walk later, so there you go.

As for drinking, you still can, but it's like everything else you have to add the calories. That's why I typically drink bourbon more than beer, since Evan Williams (brand I drink, that also is 43 proof instead of 40) has 69 calories an ounce, and I drink diet coke with it, which is 0. Beer depends on the brand. I know Heinkens are 142 calories a bottle, which isn't too bad considering they have 5% ABV. I've noticed usually the higher the alcohol, the more calories with beer, but then again, the more alcohol, the less you need to drink to get a buzz. :P

So far so good, so let's see where I'm at by the end of this year.

Hey, Paul. About being thinner and getting pants that fit.

Before I was married I was the thin kid who could have had the sand kicked in his face at the beach (except I was a mean dawg)
My weight was a meager 128lbs. of solid muscle. I had a waist of 28. It was hard enough to find jockey shorts yet alone pants.

After I got married, I gained 35 lbs. in 3 months with Mrs. FSB's baking. Pants became more available.

Now I'm an old fogie that carries some extra poundage. I was doing pretty good lately having cut back on bread, pasta, and meat. Tomato and cheese (with or without) sammies have been a great help in the past and for now. Anyhow, all was going great having lost 20 - 30 lbs. lately . . . until the unexpected road trip where $&@# happens when the menus don't agree with the program or you are taken out for dinners. Besides, there are too many unfamiliar temptations away from home.

Then I also took soya cheese and flavoured soya milk which cut back on the pounds a tremendous amount, only to run into a thyroid problem afterwards. Although, it's not certain soya was the cause, it is possible as only fermented soya (such as sauce) is acceptable according to some.

I now need platform truckin' shoes so the legs don't drag. I have no butt so my pants are always in style with the rappers and b-boys (unless I pin them to my shirt).
So, there is that sweet spot to fit into those strides. That's if you can find the right size and taper.

Oh, the heck with it. I'm presently having cherry coke and spiced rum.

Good luck on your fashion project though. :D

What annoys the hell out of me, because they no longer make sizes accurately like they use to, it seems like the more weight I've lost (I've been doing this before, but not enough to do anything significant, but I've at least maintained and not gained any back,) the bigger the size I have to go up. Isn't the opposite suppose to happen? There's no regulation with that and it's a crap shoot it finding something that is what it says on the label.
