Today I'm having some success, hooray, and some confusion learning Ableton and Cube Base. I managed to finally lay some guitar tracks down, but I may want to redo some of the playing since I was not concentrating as I could have.

I have a technical background, but that was for work and this is for pleasure so my choice has changed (even though plug-ins and effects are great). I prefer post production more than pre-production. Love the KISS principal, but it definitely doesn't apply here. I still prefer hardware over software for those things that do not depend on an OS, drivers, and occasional crashes. In the past, as a technical director and operator, I could call a tech. Today I am the tech, and that eats into my operating time. I'm hanging on to an older OS with the DAWs because I will likely change the DAW when I upgrade to the next computer. Still it's fun when everything works. :D

Went for a walk this evening and it was extremely windy outside, especially by the water. It hasn't been like that since this past winter.

The weather has been cool and dry, instead of humid, so I'm enjoying that. I suspect it will heat up by the time July hits, maybe even the next couple of weeks. Then I'll have to put the AC in the window.

Sounds good. Our grill crapped out on us, so I have to pan cook right now until we can get a new one. I made steaks last night. I do miss using it. Less messy. :P

Watching Alone on TV. For those who haven't seen it, it's a realistic survivor series where they are provided with satellite phones rather than a camera crew. It's on Vancouver Island, BC where I grew up. I survived.

Watching some TV and having some Heineken. It's my end of the day. My dad also had his 84th birthday, too. So I called him up earlier, as well. In the evening that is, not late night, early morning. That wouldn't go over too well. :P

Watching a studio video of Eddy Arnold recording "Make The World Go Away". Old equipment, old vocalists as part of the PBS classic country program, old songs that even today are recorded. Love new country rock, but you just can't take old country out of this boy.

Besides, who wouldn't want a Nashville hairpiece, and one of them snazzy sparkly rhinestone jackets that blind ya from the spotlights? :D

I'm going to get my dad a Fathers Day card. I like to do that early so there is plenty of time to mail it and get down to Florida from here.
