Falling asleep at the PC. Just kidding. Actually, long story short, I got nailed by a mischievous (email originated) unmovable pop up that prevented any previous or later entries from coming to the foreground in a browser (Chrome). Warnings said that closing out, scanning, and rebooting, amongst other things, would prevent access to the OS, etc. Complete loss of computer files was announced unless Microsoft was phoned at a specific listed number. All this after copying and pasting a link on suspicion. So much for that method.

After many fraudulent threatening phone calls of arrest warrants in months previous, I confirmed my thoughts with another browser that this was the same bunch of Asian morons who have now invaded my email and PC. Fortunately, info says it is phishing that could cost money for phone calls and computer invasion; however, one can safely close out, etc. Just don't close the pop up, close the browser to limit their participation.

Well, after the updated multiple scans for viruses and malware my next step is to restore my PC to an earlier time with extra scans to ensure that earlier malware and viruses do not exist. Also I will defrag to clean things up.

Lastly, I will catch up with some tunes and reading on the Forum while the dweebs in Asia can reflect on how close they may have gotten but failed again. Boo Hoo! If they keep it up I'll send the Donald after them.

Still psyching myself up for hauling the Rumble 350 combo up two sets of stairs to the rehearsal room from leaving it in the foyer when I got back from the radio show. That's always the best part of any show. :P Well, at least it isn't an SVT 8x10, although my bass cabs are actually lighter than that thing, even the 18" speaker cab. It just wasn't practically to haul a 1000 watt stack there. The room was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, though.

Trying to think of a way to explain that I sent a message to members about my seventh anniversary here and to say hi to those I haven't seen in awhile but didn't do it right and it looks like spam but it's not.

The sun is shining (for the first time this year at this place) -and it's lots of snow ! Wow ! I've been in my basement and found a couple of old skis (not mine :-)) and my old ski boots. Really considering a trip into the woods. I'll just have another cup of coffee and a cigarette........

I just put my Orange Terror Bass 1000 head for sale on Craig's List. I'm going to use the money and buy a Rumble 500 combo amp, if it sells. I'll keep the Rumble 350 combo as back up again, and gig with the 500. The weight difference of 36.5 pounds for the 500 vs. 65 pounds for the 350 combo amps and hauling up and down stairs has convinced me of this. Plus, I'll still have the Carvin bass cabs that I can use with the 500 combo, especially the 2x10" one. I could also use the 18" cab, but I'd have to get an 8 ohm replacement speaker for it because it's 4 ohms. I would have had to do that with the Orange head, anyway. I'll be going back to Fender amps full time. 8)

Good luck with the Rumble 500, Paul. I can sympathize with the weight issue. I have a 4 track open reel deck that I have trouble lifting from the floor back to the top shelf of a stand. It's 50 lbs / 22.5 kg! After dubs are completed I'll replace it with the lighter digital discs and/or a USB. Nostalgia is my enemy. FSB

Weighing in (pun intended hardy ha), the most powerful amp I have owned, earth shaking and louder than I expected was traded for it's bulk and weight. I could not move it . TNT Image
