I had to bleach out my shower with Tilex, so my lungs and sinuses aren't too happy with me right now. Yeah, I really should get some sort of breather apparatus when I do that. :P Also, they really need a better spray bottle. I wound up having to use a sponge and pouring the contents out because the damned thing quit working properly and that left me more exposed to the fumes. At least it's done now and now I'll go outside and try to air out.

Hey, Paul:
Play safe.

My wife is getting a dishwasher installed where there hasn't been one. Finally something to wash our beer and wine glasses.

Yeah, a dishwasher is a good thing. Hand washing dishes really sucks, especially glasses.

We actually had a rehearsal today that I wasn't even expecting. That was cool, although I definitely confirmed my issue I've been having with my bass tone. My strings are too dead, so new ones are on the way. Also, I've ordered a Boss bass EQ pedal. I'd like a little more EQ options than I'm able to get with my current set up and that seems like a cheap solution to that.

Noodling on my Les Paul while reading this article on the evolution of the Grateful Dead's "Wall of Sound" PA system - http://motherboard.vice.com/read/the-wall-of-sound

Image
Main features: The PA is also the monitors for the musicians (so that the audience hears what the band hears), and it's all behind the musicians.
 Truly the stuff of future mythology.

I've seen that article, or at least something related to it, too. That's one hell of a set up.

Going to reset my computer (basically wipe the hard drive) because I'm not digging the new Windows 10 platform I decided to try out. It's OK in some aspects, but others I find invasive. I had to use Power Shell to get rid of some crap they included on it that you can't otherwise uninstall like XBox and other things I don't want. I'll try not to get too aggravated whilst dealing with Microsoft computer drama today. Usually do, though. :P

Waiting for all of the friggin' updates, since I reformatted my laptop. Everything else is done. I got rid of all of the mommy-coddling settings and such, so I don't have to be asked if I'm sure I want to do something with a program or file. :P

I think I'm going to put new strings on my Schecter Jazz and hook up my new Boss bass EQ pedal with my live set up and mess with that. Hopefully, that will clear up some of the tonal issues I've been having because I'm running such a powerful amp at a low volume through an 18" speaker cab. I'm not moving enough air and I could use a little more high end because I'm also losing some definition on some high notes. Yeah, I probably should have got that 4x10" cab when I got the 18" instead, but I'm hard headed like that. :P I do like the big sound out of the 18," but since I'm rehearsing in such a tiny room with a 1000 watt Orange that has minimal EQ options (bass, mid, and treble,) it's really too much amp for right now. It would be awesome in a live setting, though. Also, my Schecter is kind of bass heavy frequency wise, which isn't a bad thing considering the instrument, and I've even had mud issues playing through my Fender Rumble 350 combo that has 2x10" speakers. It might now necessarily be just the amp set up. I probably should try my other basses through it and see as well. It's just the Schecter plays so nicely. I'm hoping that the EQ will help.
