Getting all thrilled about wasting a nice day combating weeds in the yard. Another win the battle/lose the war activity.

I watched some great sports tonight. The 2015 Pan Am games.

It could have been anybody's game, 111 to 108 was the OT score for Canada (the inventors of basketball) over USA (the developers of the game). Call it luck, home team advantage, or skill.

The A teams from the NBA were not in attendance, even still, it was a face off of similar talent and fair matching with the other North and South American countries. Personally, I prefer to see amateurs at amateur events and pros in their respective arena (unless all things can be equal). The irony is that, for some athletes, to be competitive one has to be pro for financial support, at times - but, not always.

We Canucks invented basketball and North American style football (having Harvard invited to join us). Ice hockey is likely ours too but, aside from the promotion and profitable hype, it has a cloudy history depending on who the story teller is.

We have some way to go to catch up to our American cousins in basketball and football . . . and our hockey reign has been shared at times.

As for the pro ball sports, we are getting close though - very close. Ask Steve Nash

If we deflated our larger Canadian footballs they could match the weight of a smaller fully inflated American ball. :D

Cheers, from someone who grew up watching Lombardi and the Packers, the Gumper and the Rangers, the Washington Huskies, and more. Incidentally, my hometown (birthplace) team Hamilton Tiger Cats is the only Canadian team to have beaten an NFL team, the Buffalo Bills.

Was checking out the new Tame Impala CD, Currents. Where are the guitars?! This is less neo-Psych and more R&B / Disco!

Very disappointed.

At long last, I will finish setting up my music space. If it rains this afternoon I should log some heavy playing time, too.

Be careful going past the amp section, especially with that 800 watt beast they have there. Oh wait, that might be me that should. :P
