Greetings from 'sunny' San Diego. Flew in from the East coast on the 21st for a big family reunion on my wife's side. Out here at L'Auberge Del Mar Resort until the 27th.

Doc.

Welcome to sunny San Diego! We ordered a bit warmer temps & a bit of humidity just to make you feel at home. However, you're slumming up there in north county near the beach, so the weather is likely to be simply fabulous, dahling! You’re up there where “the turf meets the surf”. If you like horse racing, Del Mar is in session

For music in town, besides House of Blues & Hard Rock, there's also Croce's, Anthology, Lestat's West, and Humphreys (concerts plus their Backstage Lounge, http://www.humphreysbackstagelive.com, which doesn't seem to be working at the moment), and countless other places around town that your family can probably tell you about. Zel’s is supposed to be nice: http://www.zelsdelmar.com/.

And for more info, http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/night-and-day/music-nightlife/

Hope you have a great time in San Diego! Just remember to take the heat & humidity with you when you go back east.
:D

I've tried and failed several times

I can play Up On The Sun, just not well.... No way in hell to use a normal pick fast enough, and I'm still really "eh" at finger picking.

Well then you're already doing better than me... I love the spacey, drugged the f*** out riffs on that album though, definitely have to learn that song at some point.
