I think Fender believes in Freedom of Speech as long as you follow the forum rules (that should be read by all) Brad (mod.) does not care. :)
FMIC is the better company!

Maybe the gibson site is down again? The OP seems to come here when that happens!?

I am not sure about anyone else here, but I would never choose a Les Paul over any Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster. Let those Gibson folks post here, they might learn something because they sure don't know much about their guitars on their sites. The Les Paul Guitars, over rated, over priced!

I love Fender and Gibson. The two companies live together in my music room. :D I don't like one better than the other though. I love them both equally. If I had to say I liked something about the Les Paul over the Stratocaster, it would probably be the actual weight difference. I like heavy guitars, but that's just me! Here's a pic of my Strat and Paul. Enjoy!

Listen Anarchy, it is obvious you have some problems and misplaced aggression. Just remember that this is a safe place, we won't judge you. Perhaps you can't get any of the girls in your 6th grade class to see a movie with you. Maybe you don't have what it takes to be a guitar player. Whatever your inadequacy is, we won't judge. We don't care if you have no luck with the ladies or no ability with a guitar. We won't judge you if you prefer the touch of a man either. Whatever your problem is, it is fine with us.

No matter how worthless or alone you may feel, we're all here if you need us.

I'm going to answer the question.

I don't have a Les Paul, but I do have a Gibson Spirit which has been modified to be electronically identical to a late-50s Gibson Les Paul Special.

That guitar rings, acoustically, like no other solidbody instrument I've ever played has. I don't know what it is, but it vibrates more than either of my Strats. The only guitar that's ever come close was my friend's Gibson SG Special Faded.

Electronically, it screams. It's the P-90s. I haven't had a chance to run it through my good amp, but from what I've played, it's great. I'm really looking forward to finishing the restoration, because it's a great little guitar.

I say its not the guitar that makes the guitarist, it is how he plays the guitar.

I really prefer Strats though. Really above any other guitar. They just...feel easier for me to play, compared to the thicker necks of the LP or the Tele. Not saying that I totally detest either the LP or the Tele, both are wonderful instruments! I have played many of each only to wish that I owned one. :)

I've been a Fender guy since the beginning of time (or nearly so), but I felt I had to add a Les Paul to the guitar arsenal. I love the sound, but I found I could get pretty much the same sound out of my beautiful Inca Silver MIM Powerhouse Strat with 12dB mid-range boost that I bought for half the price of the LP. Love the pearloid p/g, too.

Anyway, unlike some of the others here, I don't mind you mixing it up a bit around here. It's been kinda dull lately.

This post is not hugely objectionable to me other than that it's obvious 'bait' - threads like these only keep active 'cause folks keep responding to them so if you want them to go away, don't respond!

Regardless, I'm locking this one and issuing Anarchy in the Forums a warning purely due to the "sissy boy" comment above. Personal attacks against members are strictly outside the scope of acceptable usage here.
