I had completely forgotten about this thread.

The irony is that it was 75* yesterday afternoon and this morning we're having some major flooding/hail/tornado issues. Obviously, no salt needed here. ;)

When it snows in NYC the sanitation dept. plows the streets then spreads salt on the roads to help melt any remaining snow. That salt gets on your car and its not the best thing for it. I take the car to a car wash and get it off once the roads clear up.

Some villages in the Swiss mountains were totally blocked from traffic due to heavy snowfall. So your question is still very up to date. A friend of mine was totally snowed in, some were snowed out and couldn't get home.

Cheers

David

I've lived most of my life in Denver, and St. Louis. Seen a lot of snow, esp. in Denver! I'm a sports car nut too, and learned long ago to try and hose the bottom of your car yourself during winter. Car washes recycle water and your just spraying salt water in areas it wasn't before.

Today we had a snow storm and everything went on as normal. Hoping I'll be out of school, this Peavey needs a work out :)

I looked through the posts and wasn't on here the first time around, lol. Thanks for the second chance.
I drove a Limousine for various company's over the years and winter was a time when I would go through the car wash 3 or 4 times a day (even in the worst snowy weather customers expected a shiny limo and that's what they got if you wanted a good tip). Driving for a company that paid for washes was the dream, but, some company's wouldn't and it got expensive then. Oh well, I thought, a good tip made it worthwhile. 8)
