Hello MrJinx,

This my African Grey Parrot, named Woody.

His favorite album is Eat A Peach by The Allman Brothers
Who knows maybe he toured with them.
We've had him for abot 15 years, his true age is unknown.
He is a good time especially at sunrise.

Cheers.

My girlfriend's cat generally reacts favorably if I'm playing smooth jazz or Great American Songbook type tune and even seems to tolerate blues. But notch the volume up a little over 2 or plug in a bass, and the cat is not happy.

The cat also reacts negatively to rock, vintage or modern -- even if played at low volume.

But the most fun is watching the cat's reaction when the metal band across the street cranks it up. They rehearse in their parents' garage and while the adult residents of the street find it merely annoying, this cat does expressions and yowls that would be fit for a horror movie.

The thing is though (I'm an oldster and just couldn't resist this one) -- we're not sure if the cat objects to the music or is auditioning for lead singer

Dina Ferrari Superfast American Dog just listens. She can sleep through a typical South Florida thunderstorm.

That is funny. I can just picture the look on the cats face. With some of the modern stuff the vocals can sound like a cat in heat!

My dog Hooper ( 1/2 Chihuahua and ½ Jack Russell) reacts in two ways. Either he will lay down and stare directly at me, like he is trying to figure out how I am making that sound, or he will just go in the other room and lay on his bed. I feel much better when he sticks around to listen. Great topic, by the way.

Play a guitar to that little chicken in my garden and she runs for the hills. They must just be like "WOOOOOAH WHAT IS THAT THING? GET IT AWAAAY"...

Yeah.

I don't think our cat (Ditto) likes me playing metal with my MP3 player.
Case in point.

Pretty cool. That would make a funny Youtube video of you playing with the parrot whistling over it.

I have an orange cat that likes to sneak up and lick the strings while I'm playing. He comes up behind me and around my right side while I'm sitting and just starts licking strings. The first time he did it I didn't even realize he was there until I looked down because all the guitars sustain was gone. He was going to town. I have to shut him out of the room when I play or he keeps doing it over and over. I guess it feels good on his tongue or something because he only does it when I'm playing.

My orange cat likes to bite strings. Whenever I leave my bass on the floor, for some reason I tend to get distracted when restringing by bass, he bites the E string. It isn't just a nibble, he bites and pulls it. You just hear the slap of the string back on to the neck and the the proonnggggg of the E. He only does it once per string change though.

Licking the strings is weirder I think.

He's just stretching them for you! What a helpful animal...

Cute cat. Looks more like Ditto is guarding your mp3 player for you. Sort of a watch cat.

My dogs used to hate my playing when I was first learning. Now, they really don't care about if I play or not.
