I have a stock strat and tele both american deluxes.

I have been using tens and they are pretty easy for me to push around. I'm a rock climber. I know if I go bigger I will eventually have to get the nut modified for the low strings at least. Can I get away with 11's? 12's I am sure will be too big. :?:

Thanks

11's should be no problem, not sure about 12s.

I don't believe I would go larger than 11's. And keep an eye on the neck relief. Increasing the string gauge will also increase the tension on the neck.

Depends on the nut and what kind of shape it is in. A new faux bone nut as found on your strat can deal with 11's although the break won't be perfect. If you have funky tuning or intonation problems its probably the nut. I have 13's strung on a Hamer Echotone and required no nut job.
