Hello music fans. I was just wondering if anyone was excited about concerts or festivals this Summer. Who are you going to see?

Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction.

Also looking forward to seeing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Black Keys.

Hi humpchopper: as I just mentioned to Nikininja on another thread I have tickets near to the front for Joe Bonamassa next week. He's playing the Albert Hall in London, a venue with a whole lot of rock history to it. He's all excited about the show and says he's flying his mom and dad across to be there - aaaaahhh, cute!

The gig was announced six months ago and sold out very fast. I failed to get tickets - but it turned out my wife succeeded. However, she didn't say so untill a couple of days ago, tricky little madam!

I'm a big Bonamassa fan and have seen him several times. I'll no doubt post a pic or two of this show.

Cheers - C

PS: you seem to have accidentally double posted this thread. Easily done: why don't you go back and change the title of the other one to "ignore" or somesuch, so's we concentrate on this one?

I would have loved to see Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood but tickets are absolutely ridiculous. I'm not poor but I won't pay those prices. Other than that, my band is too busy. I don't really have time to even know who is touring this summer.

+1 -- Yes, Janes and NIN for me too.
I am also going to Cruefest2 (the wife loves Crue).
And I would like to see Aerosmith w/ ZZ Top (supposedly, Aerosmith will be playing a bunch of more-obscure 70s tracks instead of the standard set list)

Wow, you can listen to anyone you want and I won't try to denegrate them. But there is no way I would spend any amount of money on NIN or Janes Addiction. It's not a yawn, just a don't care. I don't think they will still be relavent to music in 10, 20, or 30 years down the road. But that is just my opinion.

Not relevant to music in 10 or twenty years? As opposed to who, or what?

Considering Trent has been recording and performing for nearly twenty years already, I think that train has pulled out of the station...

Just look at Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" for a perfect example..

Bonamassa and BUDDY motherf**in GUY (to quote Mick Jagger)? I'M GOING!

I'm seeing Jeff Beck at the Royal Albert Hall in early July, and I still havent made up my mind if I want to see Clapton in May, provided there are tickets left. 8)

Yeah, you got me there. One point for you. Well done.

PS I am retracting my previous "Eric Clapton w/ Stevie Winwood ... yawn ..." comment. Besides this making a negative slant towards others' input which is in bad form, I also have re-considered this. I love Blind Faith. I don't know how much of it they plan to recreate, but this may just be the Eric Clapton tour to really see. Yes, full retraction...

no harm no foul.

i just thought it really was an unecessary swipe especially when the thread is about summer shows.

i think it shows a great deal of character on your part to have reconsidered your position and retract your previous statement.

rock on and i hope you enjoy the shows you are planning to go to this summer.

by the way i do like janes addiction and nin.

peace
