Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

It's a real New York eggcream....no egg, no cream, just milk, fresh seltzer, and the nectar of the gods, Fox's U-Bet Syrup, delicately mixed in the right proportions (every New Yorker has their own secret recipe!). Delicious and refreshing!

I grew up in Brooklyn and I remember when you could buy one for 15 cents at any candy store or soda shop. Now I make my own. I like vanilla egg creams myself. You have to have Fox's U-bet syrup, seltzer, and some milk. Very refreshing drink.

Here's the recipe:

1. Pour about 1 1/2 to 2 fingers of Fox's U-bet syrup into a glass. A Coca-Cola glass is ideal and the most authentic way to make an egg cream.

2. Next pour some milk into the glass until it's roughly 1/3 full.

3. Take a spoon and start stirring vigorously while you slowly pour seltzer into the glass until it's full. It must be a freshly opened bottle of selter.

Don't wait too long before you drink it. Yum!

Most kindly, advise this ignorant metro Chicagoan...

..."WTF is the aforementioned syrup's nature and constiuency?"

Thank you. And enjoy your concoction.

I grew up in Washington Heights and in the early 80s lived near Metropolitan Ave in Kew Gardens. There was a candy store across the streets even then that had great eggcreams.
My ex took all the Coca-Cola glasses..gotta get some new ones. I;m going to try your recipe. I usually do 4oz milk and 6 oz seltzer with the same amount of U-Bet that you use. I also read the whole milk gives a better head than skim.
