Hi everyone!
I would buy a Mexican fat-stratocaster, but something disturb me... The serial number is MZ3117156.
I' ve just seen on the site that the mexican Fender guitars have only 6 digits after the MZ, and this one has 7! Is this normal? Or is this guitar a copy or something like that? The buyer just gave me the serial number and told me it was very near mint, but not the model, I can't tell more...
Thanks to answer me as faster as possible, and excuse me for my bad Englidh, but I'm french.

Just checked it on www.guitardaterproject.com and it says it was made in Mexico between 2003-04 so it's a real serial number. And it's good to see a fan of the hives on here!

why would someone waste their time faking a mexican fender? that'd be like counterfeiting pennies.

Look at it like this...

MZ3 117156

First you have MZ3, the MZ signifies it was made in Mexico and the 3 signifies it was made in 2003.

The 117156 is the actual 6 digit serial number.

Hope that helps!

This guy is putting in a lot of work to spam us with this website. I just searched his posts, same pattern. Start a new thread about a SN#, then wait to post a reply with the website. These spammers are sure getting creative.

Yup, he's been erased. Was his website a malware spreader or was there actually guitar info there? I wasn't brave enough to click on it.
