Last night, I watched this great movie on Direct TV called " Cadillac Records". It's all about Chess Records, which launched the careers of such legends as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, Etta James, etc. If any of you get a chance, I recommend that you go out and rent this movie. The acting is top notch and the music is great!

We had another thread on this earlier....I'll give the title and author of a book of which I own a signed copy. I had also posted it on the thread. If you liked the film, see if you can find this book, where the film SHOULD have been adapted from.

As an aside, my choice for the role of Etta James would have been Jennifer Hudson. Beyonce was the only actor who did NOT bear some physical resemblance to the historical figures represented in the film.

Here's the title. Check out Amazon as a start.

Spinning Blues Into Gold
The Chess Brothers and
The Legendary Chess Records

Yeah, think we did talk about this earlier.
Still, I liked the movie, but there was to much Beyonce...

What's wrong with too much Beyonce?

Seriously, if you go to Publix you can pickup a magazine called Blues Legends by Guitar One that talks about all those record lables and why the particular artist was associated with it. I'm not a big blues fan but I try and stay educated whenever I have a lucid moment.

But I'm sure the book and movie are better. Just an FYI.

I've been wondering about it... I never heard anything about it until I saw it was being released for sale... is it worth the $25 for Blu-ray?

Great movie. By far the best I have seen this year.
