I've never seen this before and I don't know where this footage came from, but the guitar playing and the entire song in general just floored me. Listen to his vibrato at 1:13. Pure feeling.

You are so totally long overdue...dude. :!: Find some of this man's CD's  When you look for influences on SRV and Doyle Bramhall, here they are...from the league of L-handed, upside down R-handed guitar players like Otis, and Albert King, who bend strings DOWN not up. Yields a far different kind of vibrato.

While you're at it, if you've never heard of Luther Allison, see if there is any of him on YouTube.....and be sitting down! 8)

Otis is one amazing guitarist.
See if you can hear any influence from him in some of the guitarists to come out of the 60's & beyond-(Say, guys with the initials EC & SRV for starters.)

So many have covered his songs from John Mayall w/ Clapton (All Your Love) to The J Geils Band and Robben Ford (Homework).

With similar qualities to Luther Allison, Magic Sam, Buddy Guy and Albert King, his sound became known as West Side Chicago blues and became an influence on Michael Bloomfield, Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Rush is left-handed and, unlike many left-handed guitarists, plays a right-handed instrument upside-down without restringing it.

He turns 74 on Wednesday (April 29th).

Well you named the EC & SRV, and raised me a MB & a PG.

Good summary.
