Are Nitro paint jobs suposed to be so dull? It's almost like no clearcoat was aplied.

Sometimes yeah ... Ive seen the highway ones for example look like they are worn out really quick...

THanks for the reply, I was almost ready to send it back. Other than the crappy paint job it plays and sounds fine.

Hi Wilbur: if it is indeed the satin finish on a Highway One you are talking about, and if you don't like it, then it is perfectly possible to polish it to a high gloss if you prefer.

I read Forum user Orvilleowner (on another forum...) talking about how he shined his up using buffing compound. Or you could just use that gentle cutting cream you can buy for getting minor scratches out of car finishes. Or even household metal polish would do the job fine. Anything with a very fine abrasive in it will work.

Then finish off with some regular guitar polish.

Yes. Hwy 1's come ready in that very flat "all ready to be naturally relic'd" look.
