Well, as I said in the other thread, I've gotten a band together and we're playing this weekend. The guy in charge just got back with me and he said that he'd like us to play for about 30 minutes! We only have a couple of songs, which combined should last for about 10 minutes. Plus we're going to jam, which should last for about another five minutes or so. I want to get as close to the 30 minute mark as I can, so I need easy, fun song recommendations. Blues or classic rock would fit the style best. I've been playing for three years, so that's what my skill level is. I have about four days to learn it and I have to let my band know about it today. Any recommendations would be much
appreciated! :D

Well, you could try some classics such as Crazy Train, Smoke on The Water, Little Wing, Purple Haze. Or just come up with a chord progression and roll with it. I've got my first gig this weekend and I have the exact same troubles. Best of luck to the both of us.

Definitely keep it as simple as possible! 'Louie, Louie' and 'Wild Thing' are both good choices. How about 'Eight Days a Week' by the Beatles? 'Knockin on Heaven's Door' by Bob Dylan? 'Dead Flowers' by the Rolling Stones? All those songs are based on pretty easy chord progressions. Good luck!

Those are two I can think of on the spot. Both really easy. Only a few chords for each and then you can just improvise a solo. Good luck

Just about any '50s rock should be easy to learn; Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly. Most songs of that genre are built around three chords, and fun to play if you let loose. Good luck!

Can't believe no one suggested Free Bird - there's 15 minutes for you!

Easy enough to play and always a crowd favorite.

The old fall back was a Chuck Berry set. Also blues stuff like ' Long Grey Mare ' and ' I Loved Another woman ' - Fleetwood Mac and ' Everybody's Got To Change Sometime ' - Taj Mahal. Any 12 bar classics.
' You Really Got Me ' - The Kinks is another quickie, or ' The Zoo ' - Scorpions is brilliant to get any audience rockin'. There are so many songs you can throw together fast, even jam them on the spot.
Just give it some thought and have a good night, I hope it goes well.
Cheers. 8)

Make sure to put a bit of banter inbetween songs get it right and the audience love it. It can make a bad band a great live show.
Also a big vote for a chuck berry number. Maybe even little red rooster too.

All quite easy and everyone plays em differently.
