I have three fender products, My American Standard P-Bass is awesome i wouldent take anything for it. However back in the seventys i had a Gibson Grabber Bass that was just as good. Last wednsday i ordered one of the new Gibson Grabber II Bass Guitars. i'll have it this wednsday. But to get to the point youll find good and bad in both. Moore good becouse they build quality Guitars and Basses. It's a draw. IMO

I just bought my first Gibson, an archtop ES 339. Tough choice, Gibson or low end Gretsch. I went with the Gibson because it is smaller than the 335 and is good for blues. don't get me wrong, I am as Fender and Martin Guy first and foremost. This is my first, last and only Gibson. I love my Teles!

No need to explain your choice. I'd love to have a old Gibson ES-335 myself! 8) Cherry(color) like Justin H. in The Moody Blues!

currently very tempted by a 61, 335 with recipt and only one owner from new. (yes i know him).

Its ok to play or own what you want whether that be a AXE or a PRS dragon II.
Thats the truth that really reveals the OP's profound stupidity.

For some reason, when I started to learn how to play the guitar, I gravitated to Fender and not Gibson. I have owned a few Rics, Ibanez artcores and a couple of Gretches and a few Strats and Teles. I have kept my current family of Teles over all of the others because these are the axes I play the most and believe they sound the best. The Gibson, was a tough choice, I felt it was the best archtop, dollar for dollar. As I play it, I feel it won't be one of those guitars I will be selling anytime soon.
