Has wondered about the series of commercials where the actors are all playing different Fender guitars and basses? Are they some kind of band I don't know about? How did Fender score such a great product placement?

Eric Violette is a French-Canadian actor who has starred in several English television commercials for Freecreditreport.com.
Since the launch of the television commercials in October 2007, Eric Violette has appeared more than 90,000 times on stations across the U.S.. However, because of his French accent, Violette's voice is dubbed over in the studios for the American commercials. He has starred in one movie, Enshangistes, which is in French.

Another interesting fact about those commercials is that the same Agency that come uo with them is responsible for the Geico gecko and cavemen the jingles are writen by Dave Mulhefeld of the Martin Agency

From what I have read the FTC has tried to stop the company that is FREECREDITREPORT because its reily not free through them. this is the FTC release about these things.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act guarantees you access to a free credit report from each of the three nationwide reporting agencies — Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion — every twelve months. The Federal Trade Commission has received complaints from consumers who thought they were ordering their free annual credit report, but instead paid hidden fees or agreed to unwanted services. Don’t be fooled by TV ads, email offers, or online search results. Go to the authorized source when you request your free report.

Thanks for the warning about the credit reports. I'm impressed by your knowledge of all things TV commercials. :)

Its wise too sign up with one of the three agencies to monitor reports and set your own alert levels for all notifications and you get all your reports for free through them along with alerts and dailey reports through service themselfs.

Even these guys try to scam you. I've been getting the free reports since it became law until last year. Suddenly they could no longer verify who I am and refused to give me the reports online. I'm at the same address and job that I have had forever. I had to send for them through the mail and they wanted notarized copies of I.D. in order to get them. Then they told me if I subscribed to the services they offered I would not have to do that again. If you ask me they're pissed about having to give up all of the free reports and if you take advantage of it they'll play games like this with you for exercising you rights.

I guess their credit ratings are improving. Their gear seems to be. On the next round I expect to see him with either a Gilmour or an EVH Wolfgang on his shoulder. :P

......and ditto to the appreciation expressed about your encyclopedic and valuable contribution.
