You guys here on the forum have got me intrested in Steve Ray Vaughan, and now I'm looking for some albums of his... any suggestions?

Has he made any "Best of..." or "... Greatest Hits" albums? In my opinion those kind of albums are the best thing for those who just got intrested in some musicans who have "excperience" (I think that experience is a nicer word than Old :D ).

In hope for good suggestions :D .

He realeased 6 studio albums (no "greatest hits" that I know of.) And they all pretty much seem to be the same.

My suggestion would just to get the one you like best!

I have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Real-Deal-Greatest-Hits-Vol/dp/B000KHX7AS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1239990714&sr=1-2

It is a good compilation. It's all good but am particularly fond of the live version of The Sky Is Crying on here.

Oh, and also if you get a chance pick up the Austin City Limits DVD

Albums are great but I love to watch this guy!

Live At The El Mocambo in 1983
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H6_NuQMtwQ

I have that DVD and it was a great show to watch, well worth owning.
One of the few that can play Hendrix WITHOUT BUTCHERING IT!

My first SRV CD was actually a two CD set called The Essential Stevie Ray Vaughan. It has the best songs from all the albums, plus a few bonus tracks like his version of "Little Wing". It's worth paying a little extra for it if you don't already have an SRV CD. Texas Flood is also a good place to start.

Little Wing is my favourite song from "The Sky Is Crying"

Just go on iTunes and type in Stevie Ray Vaughan.
There is greatest hits there and a best of.
May I add that The Best of is only £2.99 on www.Play.com :D

I live in Iceland, a country of 340.000 people. Apparently it is too small for Apple to bother opening up a iTune store here... can't even get the Artist's Lessons in GarageBand '09 :(

I thought you just had to download iTunes and if you have internet, you have access to the iTunes music store. It doesn't work in Iceland?

Every country has their version of custom and copyright laws, which means that there are diffrent tolls and taxes you have to pay for selling things online between countries. I think that is the reason that Apple doesn't bother opening an iTunes music store in such a small market. If Iceland joins The European Union, and use EU regulations, then maybe iTune store might open up in Iceland.

Oh, I get it. Man, that's a bummer. You can still order CDs online, right?
