So, The biggest music festival in the US is this weekend...Anybody here planning on going?

http://www.coachella.com/

We've got tickets for tomorrow's show - Couldn't pass up the chance to see Paul McCartney and Leonard Cohen on the same bill, not to mention The Black Keys, Silversun Pickups, and Franz Ferdinand.
We have gone a couple of years, and it is always an amazing experience. Sunday's lineup with The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs should be equally impressive . We saw The Cure last year, and I was blown away by the show. We got the tickets for free, and I wasn't expecting much - I had seen them in the 80s and they were pretty boring live - but they put on an epic 3 1/2 hour show.

George Harrison's son Dhani's band is playing Saturday - Thenewno2 - We saw them at the Casbah Monday night and they were really good. It sounded like George Harrison singing for Radiohead. He doesn't have his dad's guitar chops, but the vocal similarity is eerie. There is a rumor about that he will come out and do a couple of numbers with Paul Friday night...That would be quite nice.

It kinda scares me how much Dhani looks like George. Thenewno2 are a great band.

Coachella is about 25 miles from Palm Springs, CA - about halfway (give or take) between LA and Phoenix. Looks like it's going to be a VERY HOT weekend too, so stock up on water!

Stratmastah - I put up a link to the site if you want to check out the full lineup...

Way too many bands to list all of them.

I would also recommend checking out the Documentary about the festival - Some great performances from years past.
