Mike, you might want to take a look at "The Secret," 'think the author is Rhonda Byrne.

+1, Great book, there's also a movie, which I've seen MANY times.
I also like 'Excuse me, Your Life is Waiting' by Lynn Grabhorn.

Right now I'm reading 'This Is Your Brain on Music' by Daniel Levitin, which is about the human mind, and how it reacts to music.

Another book I really like is 'Zen Guitar' by Philip Toshio Sudo

I'm reading "Ronnie" - Ron Wood's Autobiography. It really has some interesting glimpses into what it has been like for him since joining the Stones in 1976.

Currently reading: The Ruin of J. Robert Oppenheimer: And the Birth of the Modern Arms Race

I've been infatuated with this man ever since reading his reaction to the detonation of the first nuclear device. Any man who can head up a laboratory to build a machine of war, witness his creation in full effect, and then realize what he's done, and how it will change the world, "I am become Death; Destroyer of Worlds" as quoted from the Hindu bible. Powerful words, from such a genius.

I researched Oppenheimer a good deal for a school project. He really was quite an interesting man.

To freak you out, I used to quote Oppie when I was a USMC Scout/Sniper.

"I am become Death;" (trigger pull) "Destroyer of Worlds" It's eerie and beautiful at the same time.

"Voices of a People's History of the United States" - Howard Zin
kind of a "the rest of the story" to American history.

I go through phases where I'll read a lot and then I won't pick up a book for months.
I'm kinda in the "not so much" mode now.

That sounds very interesting, I might have to get that for my vacation.
I recently finished "The Stratocaster Chronicles" and "The secret history of Star Wars" and have now started reading Richthofen's autobiography (the Red Baron).

I have given up (again) on "The Art of War". Way too dry.

I have gotten addicted to EQ magazine. I don't know much about this recording stuff, but it is fascinating to me.

I found a lot of interesting infos in this thread and I wanted to give it another try so here goes. This summer I saw Sean Penn's movie "Into the Wild", and yesterday I was in one of my favourite books store, when I ran into the book, "Into the Wild". Now you know that books are rarely exactly as the movies that came from them. I bought the book and read a few pages and suddenly I was again in the mood of the story of that young fellow who gave away everything that he had earned or that was given to him, up to that point in his life, and walked away just like that. Makes you think a lot. So nothing new to add yet as I'll be reading this book in the coming days, but if anyone want to talk about it just come and say hello.

Cheers.

The October issue of Guitar Magazine (UK) front cover has a Strat and a Tele on it and inside are several articles about Fender guitars and basses. In the one section is article in the relic workshop about buildng a Clapton Blackie (462 Ocean Boulevard). This is my favorate Magzine.

i'm currently reading ender's shadow.
ender's shadow is the sibling story to orson scott card's ender's game. both amazing sci-fi novels and very easy reads.
