I despise  this disco song from the 70's - I Love the Night Life , ( I've got to boogie, on the disco rounds... ) don't remember who even sings it. I think it's one of the worse songs ever recorded period.. :x .... but I don't turn it off if I hear it on the radio. Sort of like looking at a bad car accident - you can't help it

Grew up with my sister listening to the Carpenters and John Denver - my ears will perk up when I hear either of them and I find myself singing along..........Rocky Mountain High...........Rainy days and mondays always get me down.........

My Mom sang barbershop (tenor) - I grew up her singing (our house always filled with music) and listening to her quartet in the evenings - I still love 4 part harmonies. Try listening to Lida Rose in the musical "The Musicman" sung by the Buffalo Bills - a true classic!

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars.
