Well we all have one.I was born in 62 I have 3 older sibblings 10,8,and 7 years my senior and there was always great music going on beatles, stones, dylan you name it,I wound up being the one to play guitar and listening to the heaviest music from blues to rock.metal shred yet I HATE TO ADMIT I OWNED AND LOVED A DONNY OSMOND single called sweet and innocent that if I hear it today im ashamed to admit I still like it.Till today I can be aroundguys that lpay and my brother breaks chops by saying Mike you still into Donny Osmond. So come on and admit it all you hardcore serious music lovers what song you love that your really ashamed of or never admitted loving,Remember were on our honor so lets have some fun.

When the movie of Saturday Night Fever came out that music stood for everything me and my buddies proudly loathed!

Nowadays I listen to those tracks and find myself appreciating the craft of the vocal parts, the production, etc etc.

Even worse, I've had similar experiences with Abba songs, too! Oh dear oh dear...

:D - C

Watch me wallabys feed mate.
Watch me wallabys feed.
They're a dangerous breed mate.
So watch me wallabys feed.

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars.

I used to be ashamed to admitting to liking Union Station, but since Allison's duet with Robert Plant and Jerry's documented amazing slide/dobro playing, I have no guilt anymore. 8)

To be serious, I was sort of ashamed for liking some of Heart's songs but Nancy Wilson is a rather good guitarist! I recently saw a bio on her and was impressed!

People who are "ashamed to admit" liking something aren't listening to music, they're buying fashion.

I loathe fashion. It is, to quote Wilde, " a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."

But I like music. So I dig ABBA, the Osmonds performances on the Andy Williams Show, Union Station (you needed an old blues/rock husk like Plant to make that inhuman level of musicianship okay for you?), "Disco Inferno," Julie London singing "Cry Me A River," cheezy Vegas string parts, Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66, "Muskrat Ramble," T. Rex, "Friday on My Mind," The Monkees, and "From A Distance" (no, not the awful Bette Midler version, the heart-stopping Nanci Griffith version).

Sorry. I know I can come off like Joe Pednatic sometimes, but I've got my reasons. I make my living creating and writing about music, so I'm serious as a heart attack. :D
