I always liked any kind of sunburst. My latest guitar purchase was a 48th St. Custom Strat. It comes in a satin finish candy apple red, with a pearloid pick guard. I really like this too. It's not as bright red as you may think when you hear candy apple.

Really like the vintage white also a natural finish is cool to. A wood with a nice grain pattern does not need colour to make it shine.

I favor natural, transparent or burst finishes if the wood is nice to look at.
Otherwise, I'll take LPB or black first, then whatever looks good on that particular guitar.
