Doc , is an anesthesiologist a doctor?

An anesthesiologist is the 'sandman' who sings you to sleep during surgery. Three years of specialty residency following a year of medical internship following medical school and often a subspecialty fellowship in areas such as anesthesia for neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, obstetrics, and these days, pain management. There is a cadre of anesthesia trained nurses...Certified Nurse Anesthetists who practice within an anesthesiology group. In dentistry, all oral-maxillofacial surgeons are trained in pain and anxiety control to include inhalation analgesia, conscious sedation, and general anesthesia. Any dentist who has the interest can complete a two year residency in anesthesiology leading to board certification by the American Board of Dental Anesthesiology.

Doc

Hi ripitup555: then keep an eye on Miami Mike. That gentleman has a talent for starting long running threads. For example, as of this moment What are you listening to today? is running at 278 pages with 4169 posts and 299800 hits.

Talk about "finger on the pulse of the Forum"...!

We'll see what Brad dreams up when the first of us hits 6 picks.
Perhaps there'll be some gear in the works. 8) Now there's a serious run for the roses.

I just post things that I'm curious about and also try to help others who ask questions in other areas.

That "what are you listening to today" has helped me find some new music to listen to and even make up some good songs to learn lists.

I retired my first year long post about naming bands in alphabetical order, but I still search it out and I'm always looking for something new and different to listen to. Most recently, it's been "The Roots" and "The Last Gasp Blues Band (from the UK, btw)" with my friend Dave Sugarbeet on the White Fender Electric Violin! 8)

http://www.myspace.com/davesugarbeet 8) :!:

'Zactly. And somehow what you are curious about so often turns out to be what the rest of us are too!

For example, you started that thread about how many people actually put their micro-tilt to use. It had never crossed my mind - but the minute you asked the question I found I was curious about it, and it seemed lots of others were too! (Turned out, that micro-tilt ain't getting used much, didn't it?)

Just a knack you have for asking good questions. So keep an eye out for threads with "Miami Mike" in the by-line is what I say...

Cheers - C

There is a local TV newscast that advertises for viewers to "declare their curiosity" - that probably has a lot to do with it?

http://wbztv.com/formsection?fid=724909

I've sent in a few things that I've been curious about there too.

Also, Ceri, you have some of the most interesting threads and posts also,
so folks, look for those ones too!

Thanks Doc ! the dentistry area is good news , i wonder if there are dentists moonlighting in hospitals and clinics as anesthetists.
