Nah, I wish it was. It's a 1973 Williams Triple Threat machine, it all works and has bells/clangs like the old days. I actually traded it for a drum set in about 86 or 87 and had it ever since. Another thing my wife is happy to let me store in the basement with my KISS stuff.

They just don't get it do they?

KISS is the worlds most embarissing trademark. Gene's pursuit has made him lose what its all about. I'll gladly say that I will not buy any Kiss merchendise.

Isn't that what he did on his show, Family Jewels? More or less.

Dimebag Darrell was burried in one, along with Eddie Van Halen's black and yellow guitar, and a ton of Crown Royal.

Actually, having worked in resorts in the Canadian Rockies, I have met Gene on a few occasions. he has always been polite and courteous. Much more so than many other 'rock stars' (Dave Mustaine was arguably the nicest star I ever met when I worked there.) But gene is probably more than 50% persona when he is on camera.

Sure he is about making money from the brand, but it is kind of refreshing to see his honesty in that. it's much better than seeing flash in the pan, undedicated 'musicians' such as the 'American idol' set, or many terrible bands that pretend they care about the music. gene is brutally honest in that he has been dirt poor, and he wants to make as much money as he can, so no one in his family ever has to go through the tough times his mother had.

One thing KISS has always stood for, is that they were all about music being fun. they just put out fun rock and roll. At a time when many other more talented musicians were starting to make introspective self aggrandizing music, KISS was all about just cutting loose and having some stupid fun.

As he said in that TV show Niki mentioned: You don't have to be a great musician to play rock music, in fact there are many players making a lot of money who can barely get by musically'--this is a paraphrase, I wish i could remember the quote word for word, but it was profound.

Yeah, I guess so, if you imagine that making a lot of money is the best reason to play music. I guess that puts KISS right alongside The Archies. Bad songs, minimalist playing, stupid personas, a comic book... it all adds up.
