If I had that amount of money to spend, and I knew I was going to be okay in spending that money, I would get one super-nice guitar. Go for the supreme. I've owned multiple guitars in the past, have purchased two at the same time before, and have fallen into the same trap many times. When I accrue too many guitars is when one or more of them get neglected. Don't do that!

Buy an Epihone Elitist (made in the US and just as good as some Gibsons) or older Epiphone Elite (made in Japan) and still have 2500-3000 left over to buy a mighty fine amp or even a second guitar and mighty fine amp!

By all means Get the traditional SG. Two good solid guitars.
