Good on you. Great choice for a first guitar. You made the decision up front, your music is important enough to you to warrant the extra expenditure.

In this opinion, an excellent instrument will stand a better chance of continuing to be your pal. A lesser quality one is a more iffy matter-question-concept.

'Bought an American Standard Strat many years ago and factory setup was okay but to be truly objective, for boo-boo.

A pro setup and change in string gauge from .009 to .011s changed the guitar's character from playable and enjoyable to truly magnificent.

Surely your computer has more than one USB port, doesnt it?

Also, you can always get a PCI card with USB ports in the back of it.

I agree. I know it was a wee bit pricey as a beginner but I figured it was the same amount of money as starting with a cheaper model and weeks later upgrading to a real strat. Learning guitar is an awesome life-goal and I can't wait for every step along the way! :D

Directions:

1. Open box
2. Inspect Fender stringed apparatus
3. Tune strings
4. Plug fender stringed apparatus into said amp (with gain at an acceptable level)
5. (as a warm up and with pick in fingers) swing right arm around in a wide circle - like a windmill
6. Finger an A chord or E chord on the fret board
7. After arm is warm, move guitar strings into path of windmill arm and strike strings with pick (with vigor)
8. Report results to Fender Lounge

8)

Results: Best. Moment. Ever.

great guitar who needs sleep open the box if anything just to strum it gently and admire that beautiful candy cola finish ,maybe run a soft cloth all over her slender body caressing her neck and getting comfortable with the way she feels.enjoy your new guitar

When I opened the case...the sexy instrument was calling my name like the siren's song so I did as you instructed...strummed her sweet hair, polished every corner and admired the color and she gleamed back the rays of a nearby lamp...aww yeah! She is one hot date! 8)

It really is...this "my first guitar" smile just may not fade for years (or until that 2nd guitar smile emerges). 8) No truly though she is a beauty...or to use a cliche...an American treasure. Every time I hold it I still can't believe it is mine! :D

Congratulations again! There's nothing like a guitar. Keyboard players don't know what they're missing. You can't hug a keyboard.

I'm so jealous of you right now... I'm still struggling with learning on my Fender accoustic, but I'm really starting to feel the itch in my fingers (might be the calluses building up :D ) to buy a candy red 50's strat. I'm gonna wait little longer though (big and expensive life changes coming up) but keep on dreaming about the day I buy a Fender electric guitar :D .

Congrats again.

8) Learning my A, D, and E chords...and of course had to just strum away on her a few times...gave my guitar its 2nd good polish and it shines like the midday sun. So happy :D
