I've been hearing christian music since I went to parochial grade school. Although I never listened to it much (or at all). I'm more of a rock or blues guy. Christian music has sucked in the past. It's been all right but nothing I would buy.

In the past 5 years, it has gotten really good. Check out the radio station KLOVE, it's a national station. They have a website called klove.com. They list all the stations of the cities and states they're in. Sorry, I see your in Portugal. I just saw online though, you can listen to KLOVE on their website.

Here's the albums I have:
Margaret Becker - The Reckoning
- Steps of Faith (her greatest hits)
Lincoln Brewster - All To You...Live
- Let The Praises Ring (his greatest hits) (I highly
recommend this one)
Steven Curtis Chapman - Greatest Hits
- All About Love
David Crowder Band - Remedy Club Tour Edition (Live)
(I can't recomment a specific album of his though. He really
needs to release a greatest hits. Some of his songs are
amazing.)
DeGarmo and Key - Destined To Win (their greatest hits)
Jeff Ferguson - Supernatural
- Thinking Back (his greatest hits)
Amy Grant - Behind The Eyes
Keith Green -Collection
Benny Hester - Personal Best
Jars Of Clay - Essential
Rachal Kurtz - For Crying Out Loud
Newsboys - Greatest Hits
Petra - Collection
Sonicflood - Gold
Whitecross - At Their Best
Whiteheart - Nothing But The Best

If you like Mercy Me (I really wish they would come out with a greatest hits), definitely check out Newsboys, Lincoln Brewster, David Crowder, Jars Of Clay.

YouTube is also a great place to check out videos of christian artists.

Hi Theido,
I hope you got to talk to Bart Millard the singer of the band. They started out as a praise band in their local Church. It's a great story.

There are a multitude of Christian Artists in all musical genres that are flourishing in the US. IF you like Mercy Me and their message I would also recommend the following:
Casting Crowns
Lincoln Brewster- He can tear up a Strat...
Salvador
Kutless
Building 429
Third Day

There's plenty more out there but check these out and let me know what you think...

I'm a big fan of Third Day and Steven Curtis Chapman, as well as Geoff Moore and Mylon LeFevre along with a number of the ones already listed.

I've worked with a couple of Christian rock bands that performed a lot of covers as well as original tunes and I have to say that a number of those songs are some of the heaviest music I've ever played.

I've recorded a number of original Christian rock and blues tunes on a CD entitled Take Up Your Cross. I believe its certified paper.

My nephew, Bret Alldredge, on the other hand released his first CD last summer called Run To Jesus on Curb Records and it seems to be doing quite well.

Oh, to get back to the original question, my opinion of C Rock? I'm a big fan.

There is some good stuff out there--but I find so much of it derivative & bland. The band seems to have no real identity--they just copy other bands identities.

But as for good stuff--if you also like blues--check out the Glenn Kaiser Band.

I play in my youth group's praise band. Talk about in need of something new...but oh well.

I know of a few good Christian bands. Flyleaf (of course...), Demon Hunter, Theocracy (if you're into prog. stuff)...oh, and some DC Talk maybe. I think Mark Slaughter also does a few religious songs as well. :)

I first heard the Christian rock band Audio Adrenaline when I was 9, and my first question was "What's that instrument that's playing called?" in reference to the electric guitar. They're why I wanted to play guitar in the first place, although I didn't get around to actually playing it until I was 13. My first few songs were Audio Adrenaline songs. "The Houseplant Song" which is really goofy, and really easy, the main riff of "Dirty", "Leaving 99", "Mighty Good Leader" and "Underdog".

I had a little phase back in high school where I was into some Christian metal in the early 90s, and I'm not talking Stryper, but the bands Vengeance Rising, Believer, and Thresher.

Nah, it was pretty much those 3 and Deliverance, and that was about it for me...I just couldn't resist the power of Slayer or something
