Anyone watch the HofF induction, Beck and Jimi Page playing The Immigrant Song together was cool. Metallica was awesome, though Hetfields voice is pretty much shot

Yea, I watched it - actually sat through and watched the entire show waiting for Beck and Metallica! Still scratching my head wondering how the hell RUN DMC made it in there and SRV hasnt???

I thought it was awesome that Hetfield "planted the seed" to HOF voters and mentioned all those great bands and solo artists that have yet to be inducted - thought that was great! Also thought it was cool that Jason was included in everything and played with the band! I was so glad they played "Master of Puppets" rather than something new!! That kicked $@!!!

All in all, it was pretty cool

I watched the whole thing, too. Jeff Beck killed. I was also really impressed with Little Anthony and Wanda Jackson. Also, the "side man" inductees were cool, too.

Was it just me, but at the very end during Train Kept A-Rollin, it seemed every one was looking at Jimmy Page to take the last solo ... but he didn't take it, and they ended the song ... ?

It was a great moment to see and hear Bill Black's son and daughter talk about their dad and how he hated changing from an upright to an electric (Fender) bass back in the early 50's.

I thought that seeing them with Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana was a good experience and glad that Max Weinberg gave such a great account of DJs drumming and comments of other well known drummers who respected him.

And that Wanda Jackson was a rocker back in the day too. Great show!

Thanks for the link Mike I had not seen that. Just think about 4 decades ago Beck,Page, and Clapton were in the same band! Talk about talented guitar players all in one band! I guess they were destined to break up and go their separate ways. I mean deciding who is going to be the lead player. We are lucky that they did go in different directions, look at all of the great music we could have missed out on! :!: :D

The show was really good. They showed Beck's previous induction with The Yardbirds and when he accepted the award he said he really didn't deserve it because they kicked him out of the band!

He went on to talk (this year's speech) about how he and the others had gone separate ways and all and his playing was just jaw dropping, especially the way he doesn't use a pick and gets those sounds out of that Strat.

I'm really looking forward to seeing him next Saturday!

+10 :!: ...and while you're at it, keep your ears and eyes focused on Tal. I didn't miss a note of hers on the playback you offered us. I wonder how many in that audience that night felt that they were likely looking at a future inductee.

Had seating like that for Clapton at the Garden about 17 years ago when he toured 'From The Cradle". Pity this 8 footer three rows ahead stood all night.

Mind your ears. Seriously!!

Definitely noted! Will bring 'hearos' for this one. Also a cell-cam, if they allow it.

Beck was already in as a Yardbird, but certainly deserves being there in his own name--I'll check out that video now.
