That level of organization seems incongruous with the philosophy...

Not only do they have their symbols and orginasations (even political parties). They also have their own flag and... get this... it is almost like they wear uniforms (all black clothing)

Haha a personal fave of mine. Rest in peace Leonard Rossiter. Who wants anarchy when you can have a comedy series like that.

89th Day of the new Administration and 81 American Soldiers have been Killed in Iraq. Where is the news media now? I believe in October of last year the toll was 13 for the Month which was 13 to many but the total now almost 1 a day. The Media giving a pass on this?

And dont forget this statement made by Joe biden on Jan. 25,2009
As the Obama Administration looks to escalate the war in Afghanistan by doubling the number of American forces on the ground, Vice President Joe Biden concedes that Americans should expect a higher death toll this year than in years past.

Appears he was telling the truth because its going up. Wheres the Media here.

I am just venting because this seems to have taken the back burner to all the other problems we are having in the U.S. and the Media does not have an agenda to show these things like in the past.

Russianracehorse, you never cease to amaze me with the breadth of your references. How on earth have you ever heard of our beloved Reggie Perrin? Crikey.

The bad news is the BBC has just announced they're remaking it. Why can broadcasters and film makers not come up with new ideas, instead of messing up old ones? Ah well...

Cheers - C

My God did you see what channel5 did to minder. Having that goon from eastenders as Arthur Daley could never work. These remakes are just a horrible excuse for the lack of new ideas. Our politically correct world wont accept the true comedy/drama of 1978. Have you caught any of the sweeny reruns. Its shocking tv, bad language, violence, smoking, drinking, women as objects.

Still i enjoy it.

Hi Ceri -

Two different influences come into play here. The first is that PBS (Public Broadcasting System) in the US aired a lot of BBC shows during my formative years back in the 70s and early 80s. So I got exposed to Monty Python, Reginald Perrin, The Two Ronnies, The Goodies, Are You Being Served?, 'Allo 'Allo, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and lots of other British comedies. The second influence comes from actually living in Bedfordshire (RAF Chicksands) 1993-1994, where I watched Fry & Laurie, French & Saunders, Harry Enfield, Alas Smith and Jones, Red Dwarf, and many more.

So now you know why...that bloke's a nutter!
