I wasn't looking for a huge debate, I just thought it was entertaining that a there is an Atheist Church, since most people relate church with religion, and atheists aren't typically thought to be into religion, that it just seems funny...

My initial idea behind this post was to point out the modern anarchists like the ones seen at the g20 summit are no longer into anarchy and just want to replace our current set of rules with theirs. Dont get worked up about it mate, all discourse conducted in an intellegent manner with respect to other parties is good. Let it go wherever it will.

The fact that anarchists hold meetings seems absurd. Who heads the meeting and do they all revolt against him/her.

The real question here is what are you when you simply reject all rule except self government?
A dissident maybe?

I feel ya, it'd be like if there was a Church of Atheists....Oh wait, they do have those...Its like these people don't understand the definition of what they define themselves as...

Lots of non christian groups have churches. Athiests for Christ would be the Irony your loking for.

You could get a nice ecclesiastical design and spend a hour every day in rigorous devotion to it.

With two kids and the neighborhood troops coming in and out all day long, the only time the carpet gets used is to wipe the feet. Now that's not to say I don't like my carpet, its just that I not overly attached to it - by the way it does have a design - it is not ecclesiastic though - just something woven in China and marketed through Wallyworld (Walmart).....quite durable I must say.

That summit brings every nut from everywhere with God only knows how many agendas. We on this side of the pond had our Goverment talking head there trying to look like a leader. Of what I don't no but what can you do. Inexperence has been rearing in ugly head so far and we are digging a deeper hole then every before. The goverment taking over banks and mortgage's ya right like there going to evict those who don't pay. Chrysler or GM go under never fear all we the goverment will cover the warranty on your car. Socialism on the way. never fear we will decide whats best for you.

On the subject of the new world disorder why dont they give the money their using to bail out banks to the public. Sure fire kickstart to to economy.
I fully see the need for a new regime, we've proved to ourselves that democracy doesnt work. Look at russia. If they'd stayed strict they would be doing great now. They took on western attributes and it all quickly went to pot. China on the other hand are going from strength to strength.

No i dont believe in communism at all, i despise it. I'm simply pointing out the prolonged faliure of our 'popularity contest based politics'. Picking a leader with a nice smile and the ability to kiss a lot of babies doesnt get the job done.
Thats one good thing about charlie gordon brown. He never had to debase himself by running in that kind of election. His slip in through the backdoor plan done away with any need for any kind of democracy.

Being a mountainbiker, me and my friends get out in the woods on Sundays and celebrate "The Church of Cog". (At least that's what we tell our wives.) :D

Anarchism doesn't necessarily mean chaos, that's just what is taught in schools.

In a true socialist society, there would be no government, making it anarchism, but the two don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. Anarchism can include capitalism without any governing body.

In this opinion, a not hypocrite Anarchist should not use...

...electricity, motor or mass-produced muscle-powered vehicles, purefied water, any form of prepared food or manufactured item or writing, manufactured clothing, corrective eyewear, medication or electronics, since these are all products of some or other state-protected / governed / regulated rigidly-engineered, standards-required non-anarchist entity or other.

People are what make anarchy impossible. Someone is always going to follow someone. The lack of leadership is one of the main points.

Self rule at the expense of governed rule type anarchy would in no way be socialist. It would be utterly capitalist in nature. Just look at human greed and tell me it wouldnt be worse. Own the possesions of your kill would soon see the degeneration of any kind of society. Leading to a chaos state in pretty much no time at all.
Seriously no one believes that we wouldnt kill each other for food, water, weapons. How would a unpoliced state ever stop it?

I belive in quite preperation. You can always hope for the best but its wise to prepare for all possibilities. As far as anarchist ,they might want to be careful what they wish for.

A statement thats far too true. Ever wonder how many north african anarchists there are? It seems to be a mindset exclusive to the rich and spoilt nations.

I read you loud and clear nik, once you get passed the angry hysterics, theres not alot of substance. I think sometimes folks focus alittle to much on what makes them unhappy.Good point about africa, not many in this country truly understand what suffering is ,I pray it never gets that bad.
