I own a couple of Gibson’s and have lingered around in the Gibson forum a few times but never set up an account. From what I have seen, I am not a big fan of there forum. I like the topics in the Fender forum better and the people here are a lot more friendly it seems. I do like to go check out the Arlen Roth lessons, but as far as forums I dig it here….

I don't see what's the issue between Fender & Gibson, besides the fact that they're both amazing guitars and it's up to each one's taste to prefer the one or the other! (or even both sometimes!)

I had a Gibson forums account for a bit. It was a good place with some cool guys, but it gets repetitive after a while and the censoring by the admins was driving me nuts. I'm much more of a Fender guy than a Gibson guy but it was a small group with less stupid questions from non-regulars. The Fender forum has gotten a lot better than the way it was a year ago, so I'm back.

I own 2 Gibson and wouldn't be caught dead on there again after what happened with some snobs on there.

Screw 'em

The G place does not seem to be anywhere near as classy, fun or civilized as here. What's up with that? We are all musicians and guitar enthusiasts.

But it sure does give one perspective; if electric guitar players of mainstream brands can't even get along, any wonder why countries can't...?

I'm an active member of the official Epiphone forums, EpiWiki, Gibson, and Fender.

I'm not really a fan of brand loyalty. I have a Fender, a Squier, an Epiphone, a Gibson, a Martin, and another Gibson on the way.

Next one will either be a cedar/rosewood acoustic (Taylor or Epiphone Masterbilt, from what I'm finding) or a Heritage H-170.

I can get along with anybody----to a point. I will patiently listen to you and treat you with respect and dignity, even if I disagree, always leaving the choice up to you. It is after all, only opinions anyway. Freedom of expression is what it's all about in free societies.

-----"to a point" is when they become offensive to me for merely asking an innocuous question about my lowly Studio LP. After all it wasn't a Standard, Custom, or Classic, so I guess I didn't deserve respect. Those guys who did that need to get a life.

I have a mental image of them as those who drink fine wine, holding the dainty glass with their pinky stiking out in one hand, and caviar in the other, nose stuck in the air, drolly talking about themselves and pitying those who aren't as fortunate to own $3000 guitars - lol

A few bad apples who patrol around looking for someone's parade to rain on.

I don't have time for that.

I used their site to register my acoustic, and that's about it. The only other forum I use is the Dean one, but I can only take so much blabbin' about metal and Dimebag for so long.

In addition to Fender, I have Gibson, Epiphone, Alvarez, and Rickenbacker accounts. Seems best to go to the enthusiasts on each site when you have questions. You just have to ignore the brand snobbery on each.
