i would also like to add.....if the NFL lets Vick back in the Eagles and the NFL are gonna lose a loooooott of viewers. A stunt like this is basically showing that you can get your way with a nice, heart-felt apology and then expect everything to just be ok and sunshine and butterflys. What Vick did was sickening and disgusting. If it were up to me, he would have life in prison. Two things that disgust me in this world: rape and murder of a child, and animal cruelty.

It seems to me that these "professional athletes" can do whatever they want and get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Dante Stallworth gets banned for one year and has to serve only 30 days for killing someone, while Michael Vick only does 2 years in jail for animal cruelty but yet gets renstated in the NFL and signs with the Eagles. I'll bet come next year, Stallworth will be back as if nothing happened and the Browns will be happy. Nice example o set for today's youth Roger Goodell. These two criminals should be banned from the NFL for life.
Not always, most people would not have received the time that Vick did. Most of the time he got was for lying to prosecutors about his role . What Stlworth did was an accident a sad one yes but he never tried to get out of it. A few years ago five miles from where I am now there where 5 children killed while waiting for a school bus by a person trying to pass another car striking the back of it and running off the road. That person never spent a day in jail. It just seems like all the atheletes get away with it but that just because you here about them but there are people everyday getting off just the same but they are not in the public eye.

If anyone with a criminal record was banned from professional sports, than quite possibly MLB, the NFL, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, and many of the different MMA associations/circuits would be missing some big name athletes, talent, and familiar faces...and there is only so much room in professional wrestling for these types of people...

In my opinion "BAN THEM ALL". All they are doing is showing the kids of the world that they do the crime, do the time, and still be rich and famous. It's just wrong on several levels.

I'm a "root for the underdog" kind of guy. I own cats and am a pet lover, but I'm really hoping Vick can overcome what he's been through. I believe that he can win over the public and become a role model once again.

The thing is, the same can be said about many musicians, artists, movie/TV stars, and other types of celeberties...should all these people be banned as well?

If thats the case, here are some musicians who did the crime, did the time, and still are/were rich and/or famous, but should be banned because all these individuals are doing is "showing the kids of the world that they do the crime, do the time, and still be rich and famous.":

Artist: Crime(s)

Johnny Cash: drugs

Vince Neil: dangerous driving resulting in death

James Brown: weapons, assault, failure to stop for police

Keith Richards: drugs

Paul McCartney: drugs

Rick James: sexual assault and torture

Merle Haggard: theft

Steve Earle: drugs

Aaron Neville: theft

Chuck Berry: armed robbery, tax evasion

...and I am sure there are many more who can be included on this list...

NO WAY !!!!

ALL PROFESSIONAL SPORTS HAVE TIGHTENED THEIR BELTS TO STOP ALL DRUG USE AND PUNISH THOSE WHO BREAK THE LAW.

PRO SPORTS FIGURES ARE USED TOBE MODEL FIGURES FOR OUR CHILDREN AND APPARENTLY MR VICK HASN"T GROWN UP AND HAS NO COMPASSION FOR OTHER THINGS ON THIS EARTH BUT HIMSELF !!!

I forget who said it but if he is to be re-instated he should be dropped in BACON GREASE and fed to the dogs he used to fight, not to mention the one she drowned, shot and sacrificed to show off his KILLER DOGS.

JUST SHOWS YA MONEY DOESN:T NOT BUY COMMON SENSE......

HE should have been put in jail for MUCH LONGER since he was also crossing STATE LINES AND BETTING ON THIS.

Just like OJ, BERNIE MADOFF,Mr. Jackson.....it proves those with MONEY are ABOVE the laws of us who don;t have millions to BUY OUR WAY OUTOF TROUBLE !!!!!!

BTW..THE STINKIN EAGLES picked him up and he will be FULLY re-instated by week 5

THE EAGLES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TERRIBLE AND THIS IS JUST ONE MORE OF THERE TERRIBLE MOVES>>>>>THEY DESERVE EACH OTHER>

He does all this and gets to continue to play..PETE ROSE bet on baseballgames NOT HISOWN TEAM and can not get into the HOF !!!!!

I'll bet he could if he had the cash VICK had and his attorney's !!!!

I'llpay to see him fight the DOGS and MIKE TYSON !!!!!

There are plenty of GOOD KIDS who would give there RIGHT LEG to play in the NFL...what does he have to offer that will ever clear him of what he did.

Give someone NEW a chance....a chance at a life and a chance to prove to the world NOT ALL PRO PLAYERs are arrogant azzzzes !!!!!

I SAY MAKE HIM WORK AT AN ASPCA FOR FREE FOREVER

I am torn by this-

On the one hand I feel that his crime was extremely cruel and shows a person with very poor character and morals-

On the other hand- He needs to be allowed the opportunity to rejoin the population and work. He paid his debt to society and although he has been let out of prison...he must live with the stigma of what he did for the rest of his life- That is punishment for life and a heavy burden he will carry till his death.

Vic has an opportunity to turn his life around and use his celebrity to make some positive changes- If I were him I would start an organization that stops the brutality of dog fighting and Do PSA's for the SPCA and Humaine Society. He has a chance to turn his image around...the question is ..will he do it?

I am a pet owner. I am appalled by what he did. However, I think what he did is kind of irrelevant at this point. What is relevant is that he committed a crime. Had his day in court. Was convicted and incarcerated. he served the time the justice system sentenced him to.

So if you believe in your justice system, and the tenet that a man has paid his debt to society, then he must be allowed to go back to work.

it might be hard to swallow that he will pull down the giant bucks, but unless or until laws change to deal with that(and should they?) that's just the way it is.

Vick is on "60 Minutes" right now in a recent interview. I can understand some of his thoughts, but the jury's still out for me so far.

I don't want to say any more which could be spoilers on the West Coast.

Let's talk about skills for a second... There is all this talk about Vick like he is as good as Peyton Manning. In fact, Michael Vick is only a very marginal quarterback. He is not a good passer, and struggles on his reads. Also, does he still have that blazing speed like out of college, or has he lost a step at (a seemingly heavier) 31 years old?? He better because that is his only real tool.

Prediction: Vick will play poorly and be out of football in three years.
