Lately I've been thinking about ditching the multieffect and making up my own pedalboard.
I was thinking about buying either a Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde or buy a Route 808 and use it in conjunction with my Boss DS-1.
would there be much difference between the two choices?
I've noticed a terrible feedback sound during my use of DS-1...so I guess I'm tipping more towards Jekyll and Hyde.
Also, which would be more versatile between a Double Trouble and Jekyll and Hyde...? I love to play blues rock, but my church music requires more of a modern distortion sound :\
If a Route 808 would be better in all cases, that would be okay too :|
any advises?

I have a Jekyll and Hyde, so I can answer any questions about that. But I've never tried any of the other pedals you're talking about.

The JH distortion would be the way to go because it is very clean and versatile. The DS-1 is good if you want to be muddy all of the time. At least with the JH you can choose and if it isn't muddy enough you just hit the overdrive.

from what i hear, route 808 is pretty much the Jekyll portion of the JH pedal. I was wondering what Hyde would be, so I could make a choice whether or not to buy the JH. Double Trouble is 2 Route 808s in one.
I'm guessing JH isn't bad for blues at all??

No, not bad at all. It's incredibly versatile, it can literally nail any style you can think of except for the extremely heavy distortion needed for some metal and hardcore. The Hyde side plays an important part in the wide range of sounds that it's capable of producing. So if your main thing is to get some variety, the Jekyll and Hyde is the way to go.

hmm its not like a play anything heavy, so i'll probably get a Jekyll and Hyde then, if i can find one for a good price. by the way, what kind of power does the pedal use?
